Leganes vs Villarreal by Jimeno
Leganes didn't have much chances to stay undefeated last time out in LaLiga, as the team visited Espanyol and stood defeated 3:0. However, it needs to be said that they have created chances as well, but their defensive lineup was making too many mistakes in the second half and the team simply couldn't get anything out of the game with such a defensive behavior.
The game itself was quite a defensive one, but once Espanyol took the lead in 47th minute with a goal from Moreno, everything was much more easier for them. Four minutes later they doubled up the lead via Piatti, while the same player made the final result in 88th minute. After this defeat, which was fifth in last six LaLiga games, Leganes remained at fifteenth position, which is four points above red zone placed Gijon. During the midweek, team was defeat at home in Copa del Rey game against Valencia 3:1 and the team is now almost already excluded.
Home team is set to play in 4-2-3-1 formation with Neves as their number nine, plus Lopez, Gabriel and Ramos as offensive midfielders. Right back Bustinza is carrying a knock and remains doubtful, while injured continue to be left backs Adrian Marin (5/0), Diego Rico (11/1), offensive midfielders Alexander Szymanowski (10/3) and Robert Ibanez (5/2), as well as forward Kone (5/0).
Villarreal, on the other side, stood defeated in a home match last weekend against Alaves 0:2, without showing anything close to their full potential. Visitors surprised them a lot at the beginning of the game, taking the lead in eight minute via Ibai, but also doubling up the lead just nine minutes later via Camarasa.
Despite being much better for the rest of the game, this simply wasn't a day of their players and the home team didn't even manage to score a goal, even though they completely deserved it, needs to be said. After this defeat, Villarreal slipped down to sixth position at the moment, having just two points less than fourth and Champions League placed Atletico Madrid and they need a victory here badly. During the midweek, they took an easy victory in Copa del Rey match against Toledo on the road 3:0 and could be said, have already progressed further to 1/8 finals.
Guests will be playing in their typical 4-4-2 formation with Pato and Sansone as their strikers. Striker Roberto Soldado is injured from the start of the season, while injured also remains midfielder Alfred N'Diaye (8/1) with doubtful being offensive midfielder Denis Cheryshev (11/0).
Leganes isn't looking that good at the moment and I can't see them walking away with something here. Villarreal lost their previous two league matches, but showed character in the Cope del Rey match and should continue their improvement here. There is plenty of individual quality that speaks on the side of the visiting team.
