Leganes vs Sociedad by Jimeno
Leganes could be satisfied with their start into LaLiga season as a newcomer, since anyway nobody expects from them a lot this season. The team is for now standing at fourteenth position at the table, having ten points earned, which is two more than relegating placed Gijon.
They have suffered two defeats in previous two rounds, coming from a lost match against Sevilla 2:3 at home, but also being outplayed last weekend away from home against Malaga 4:0. The team actually didn't look that poor on the field, but were completely outplayed when speaking about being concrete in the final effort. Scoring goals seems to be a problems for them, while they have certain problems in the defense, thus Malaga easily reached the victory thanks to goals via Jony (penalty kick) and Castro in the first halftime and Ramirez and Camacho in the second part of the game.
Home side should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Neves as central striker, but also with Szymanowski, Gabriel and Ramos as offensive midfielders. The hosts aren't expected to make any changes for this one, despite losing their previous games. Insua may come into the defensive lineup. They have no fresh injury nor suspension worries.
Real Sociedad, on the other side, is having quite positive start in the new season and the team will be surely looking to continue in the same manner and if possible, reach the European exit. At the moment, they are at seventh position, just two points behind Europa League placed Athletic Bilbao so a victory here remains a target for sure after three straight defeats away from home.
In the most recent game, Sociedad managed to get a rather easy victory over Alaves last weekend, cruising to three pointer with a 3:0 win. They were obviously a better side for the whole game and completely deserved the points thanks to goals from Prieto in 24th, Willian Jose in 57th and Vela in 87th minute, while players of Alaves were mostly focused on their own defense, being forced to play behind the ball and waiting for chances on counter attacks.
Visitors from Sociedad will be playing in their usual and bit more offensive 4-3-3 formation with Vela, Oyarzabal and Jose as forwards. Carlos Martinez might be playing at the position of right back instead of Zaldua and that can easily be their only change. Midfielders Markel Bergara (4/0) and Esteban Granero (no performance so far) continue to be injured, same as forward Imanol Agirretxe (also no performance).
- There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 6 of Leganes's last 7 games (La Liga).
Leganes is winless at home this season and I don't see this fact being changed after tonight's game. Sociedad have lost their last three matches on the road asd well, but I see the visiting team reacting here. Draw can't be excluded, but the visitors side should have the edge when speaking about atmosphere and individual quality.
