Le Havre vs Lens by Lucien
Le Havre didn't find a proper way to respond away to Amiens ten days ago in previous Ligue 2 clash, as the team suffered 2:0 defeat even though they had all the chances to walk away with something before the game. However, they proved to be pretty unfluid with the ball to their feet and their opponents somehow looked way more concrete with the ball to their feet.
Players of Amiens created much more chances, having scored the opening goal already in fifth minute via Monconduit, while Manzala Tusumgama doubled up the lead in 55th minute, with the home team remaining still with better chances and even missed a penalty kick later on during the game. This was first defeat for Le Havre after three undefeated rounds (a victory and two draws), as they remain in the middle of the table with ten points more than relegating worried sides and eleven less than promotional fighting ones.
Lens, on the other side, survived a real setback last Saturday evening as the team hosted Auxerre and were real favorites to win the game with ease, however were defeated with a narrow 1:0 result against relegating worried sides and made a huge setback in their promotional but also title chase.
However, it must be said that the players of Lens were much better than their opponents and actually controlled the ball for whole ninety minutes, however without being enough concrete upfront. Both halftimes belonged to them, but the players of Auxerre snatched a victory with a goal in 42nd minute via Mathis. The team is now fourth at the table, logically with a game less played, as they have four points less than leading duo from Strasbourg and Brest, also tied up with third placed Nimes which means that they remain in a must win situation here.
Le Havre is somehow coming into this one a bit without much of competitive motives, however the side will surely want to bounce back after defeat last week, while Lens also have improvement to make, but also to bounce back with much more positive performance and outcome ahead of their promotional battle. Visitors remain closer to get the victory, but I don't see them breaking the home defense so easy. Hosts are tough nut to crack and I definitely see the match being as close as possible and probably decided with a goal only, if any.
