Lazio vs Napoli by Enzo
Lazio is having one of the better starts in the new season, as the team comes from another victory, this time away to Genoa as they took a 3:2 win on Sunday night. It was a deserved victory for the visitors in overall a very open game, as they were leading twice before managing to secure the three pointer.
Bastos brought the visitors into the lead in 13th minute and the players of Lazio were way better, but the home team responded much better in the second halftime. They leveled up the result in 57th minute via Pellegrini, while Immobile brought the guests back into the lead in 70th minute, however Pellegri again responded three minutes later. Finally, Immobile secured the victory with a goal again, back in 82nd minute leaving no time for the hosts to respond. Lazio is now just below the leading trio with three victories and a draw, having two points less than the league leaders.
Hosts should be playing in 3-4-2-1 formation with Immobile as central striker, plus Milinkovic-Savic and Alberto as offensive midfielders. Midfielder Marco Parolo will be back in the midfield after serving suspension. Central defender Wallace (3/0) is injured for this one, same as offensive players Felipe Anderson and Nani, both without playing so far. Goalkeeper Federico Marchetti comes from injury but shouldn't be used as he anyway didn't play so far.
Napoli, on the other side, comes from a very positive and impressive performance as the team got an easy 6:0 victory at home over newly promoted Benevento and looked unstoppable in attack at moments, especially in the first halftime. Their performance looked great at start, as the hosts scored four goals in a bit more than thirty minutes (via Allan, Insigne, Mertens and Callejon).
Mertens scored two more in the second halftime, both from penalty kicks in 65th and 90th minute for completely deserved three points against players of Benevento who looked way too defensive and did close to nothing in attack. Napoli is having all four victories for now scoring at least three goals in each of their Serie A matches this season and surely want to keep up the momentum in a title race.
Napoli, on the other side, should be playing in 4-3-3 formation with Callejon and Insigne as wingers, plus Mertens most likely as central striker. Their manager Maurizio Sarri has a full roster to choose from.
- Lazio have scored at least 2 goals in their last 3 matches (Serie A).
- Napoli have scored at least 3 goals in their last 8 matches (Serie A).
Both teams are coming into this match in a really good offensive form and I can't see this match being any different. Napoli remains slight favorite, but the players of Lazio have huge potential in attack and I'll choose only both teams to score and over goals under such circumstances.
