Laval vs Angers by Isaiah
Laval accepted their fifth defeat in five games this season, losing away to Dijon with the score of 1:0 after an extremely tight and balanced game according to the match reports. Both teams had the absolute necessity for victory and looked with every way to score, while there should have been more goals in the game based on the opportunities both teams created.
Laval is the only team in French League 2 that has not yet even one point. Their coach remains to the bench but the moaning of the fans is bigger every week, so the pressure is very high at the moment and in case of a defeat is very likely to have changes to their club. Recently Laval tried to strengthen their squad and signed midfielder Amara Baby from Chateauroux, very good striker Abdoulaye Sane from Rennes and striker Julien Toudic from Lens.
Left back Selim Ben Djemia (2 games), young striker Vahagn Militosyan (2 games), young defender Renaud Dreuslin (no participation yet) and right back Gaetan Belaud (4 games) are out of the squad from tonight's game. Laval squad: Mike Vanhamel, Maxime Hautbois, Guillaume Rippert, Miodrag Stosic, Malik Couturier, Jordan Adeoti, Kévin Perrot, Anthony Robic, Damien Tibéri, Anthony Gonçalves, Hassane Alla, Amara Baby, Mamadou Diallo, Christian Bekamenga, Abdoulaye Sané, Julien Toudic.
Angers won 2:1 at home against Brest in a dramatic way according to the match reports, as they scored two goals in the last two minutes of the game. Overall in 90 minutes Angers were better than Brest and they fairly took the three points of victory.
Angers is in excellent condition, playing good football, and they have scored in all five league games. The only negative fact is that they accepted goals to 4 games out of 5, something that definitely needs to be changed if they want to claim hopes for promotion. They recently signed and added young striker Mohamed Yattara from Lyon, to an already strong attacking line, and now they have maybe the most threatening attack in the league. No squad problem for Angers.
I think that Laval will be able today to try for their first points to the league, at least to score, to this close local derby. An open game is expected, like most of Angers games, home or away. The need for a win for Laval, may help to see lot of goals.
