Las Palmas vs Almeria by Sunshine
In their last match of the regular season, Las Palmas was defeated with a narrow 1:0 result away to Murcia. It was a crucial match for them and they lost it, however got very lucky as Ponferradina got only a draw at Lugo and practically, allowed them to participate in the play-offs.
However, even so their target for the regular season is achieved and no matter what, they will have a chance to promote to the Primera, after several years. Of course, the final target of getting into the Primera will be very tough task, but the whole island will surely give the support to the club. Coach Lobera stressed out that the team is well prepared for the game and that he has a good feeling regarding the today's game. Although the team didn't play recently well, everyone believed that they will get back to the good performances when it's needed the most.
Midfileder Vicente Gomez (22/0) is suspended for tonight's game and will be the only absentee for the hosts.
Almeria is also coming from a defeat, but they failed to get something positive against one of the strongest sides in Segunda - losing to Villarreal 1:0 away from home. It was a critical game for them, as Almeria needed a victory to get the direct ticket to Primera, but instead of them Villarreal got it.
Despite the good look Almeria had for most of the game, guests didn't make anything good out of it and are forced to play the play-offs now. However, being third at the table and looking whole season overall, they surely are the favorites to get the Primera ticket at the end. Coach Javi Garcia has clearly said that the team is disappointed, but they will change the things and will try to make their fans proud. Still, most of the players are confident that they will outperform other teams, but also know that any mistake can cost them a lot. Defender Marcelo Silva (20/1) is injured, while midfielder Ruben Suarez (18/1) is suspended.
Guests are coming in much better form, but Las Palmas would surely want to stay competitive for the second leg too. Still, Almeria is at least a bit quality team and won't be such a wonder in case they get out with a victory already from the first leg.
