Kongsvinger vs Valerenga by 20Legend
Kongsvinger is known as the weakest hockey team in GET-Ligaen and this season makes no exception from that statement. One overtime loss is their best performance this season with the other ten games ending in regular losses. The players know it themselves, but they always try to make it as hard as possible for their opponents to play their game. That results in some surprising performances in a long season like we saw last season with two wins against tonight’s opponent.
However, we have not come that far out in the season yet and Kongsvinger has already felt how it is to meet Valerenga this season. Their last match took place only 10 days ago and ended with a comfortable win for Valerenga (0-7). Since then, Kongsvinger has lost by big margin against both Lorenskog (1-6) and Frisk Asker (5-1) last time out.
Valerenga was not able to be recognized before October started with three straight losses. However, the match against the best hockey team in the league Stavanger Oilers (2-1) on October 1st changed the morale for the better. Kongsvinger (0-7) was the next opponent to get knocked over, before Storhamar (3-0) marked their third win in one week.
However, their last match against struggling Lorenskog (3-1) brought them back to earth. It was a match were both teams were strong on taking advantage of powerplay possibilities. Three of the four goals came in powerplay, before the decisive goal came from regular play with 12 seconds to go before fulltime.
The last game between these two teams is what to expect when you look at these teams on paper. Valerenga got their winning-streak broken by the rivals from Lorenskog, but this is obviously a great chance to get back onto the winning horse again. It is not much to add when Kongsvinger plays their games, as a loss is the most possible outcome in every game. However, I expect Valerenga to show the same dominance as last time and cover the handicap of three goals win once agian.
