Kayserispor vs Galatasaray by Isaiah
Kayserispor is not having a victory after two rounds played of Turkish Super Lig, but the fans will be very satisfied with their performance in the second round when the team managed to take a point away to Fenerbahce following 3:3 draw. However, it needs to be said that their hosts have played with a man less since 38th minute and that this factor influenced the game a lot.
However, players of Kayseri also showed great fighting spirit before that minute, taking the lead in 27th minute with a goal from Welliton, but the hosts leveled up the scoreline in 30th via Kjaer, same player that got excluded. Fenerbahce even took the lead in 44th, but the visitors replied a bit later, again via Welliton. Bukak wrote 3:2 on the scoreline in first minute of additional time, but the hosts responded in last moments of the game with an equalizer, completely deservedly since they played with a man less but were more than equal opponent. In the first round Kayseri suffered defeat to Akhisar 2:0 at home.
Home side should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Welliton as central striker, plus offensive midfielders Turuc, Sonmez and Nakoulma. Important central midfielder Samba Sow (1/0) is out and should be replaced by Somnez. Hosts brought Furkan Yaman on a free transfer from Besiktas in last days of transfer window.
Galatasaray have opened the new season in a best possible way, since the team managed to win the Turkish Super Cup game against Besiktas winning it closely, but then also to overpower Kardemir Karabukspor in the first round with a very late goal, but in completely deserved style pushing from very early phase of the game.
In the second round they went to Akhisar and took the victory deservedly with a 3:1 result. However, the things didn't go that well at the start, with Akhisar taking the lead in third minute, but the guests replied with great fighting spirit and controlled the game from that moment on. Equalizer came in 35th via Derdiyok, while Oztekin wrote 2:1 in the middle of the second halftime, while Bruma sealed the victory with the third goal in second minute of additional time. Galatasaray is now at the top of the table with Basaksehir and surely aiming to get a victory here and remain at the top as long as possible.
Visitors should also be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation, with Derdiyok as striker and Bruma, Sneijder and Podolski as offensive midfielders and attacking help to Derdiyok. Galata brought Kolbein Sigthorsson on loan late in the transfer window, while they signed Nigel De Jong from Los Angeles Galaxy as well. Striker from Iceland is out however till December. Semih Kaya and Lukas Podolski are both very near their full fitness and should be used here, with Koray Gunter remaining as a long term absentee.
- Galatasaray are undefeated in 24 of their last 25 matches against Kayserispor.
- Galatasaray have won their last 4 matches (Super Lig).
Galatasaray looks quite strong this season, especially when having in mind that they managed to pull out some late winners now. Hosts do have quality, however they have been put together a bit quickly with mass signings this Summer. That's something that shouldn't be working in their favor and I suppose that the visitors have much more quality in their roster and have what it takes to claim a victory here, easy or hard.
