Ipswich vs Bristol City by Shibby
Championship action on Saturday (26/09/2015) in a 15:00 kick off. The game will be played at Portman Road, Suffolk and will be played between the hosts Ipswich Town and Bristol City. Both clubs have not been great lately, however, the hosts are still currently in 5th place in the league on 14 points from 8 games, so all things considered they are in a good place. Manager Mick McCarthy made a lot of changes in their last game which ended 3-0 to Manchester United (cup game). Prior to the defeat to United Ipswich were starting to get back in the swing of things after they beat Leeds at Elland Road 1-0.
Their next game was a 1-1 draw with Birmingham City. Ipswich did start the season really well and have to be feeling confident vs a poor Bristol City. As I mentioned previously Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy made several changes to his team vs for the cup game, so his main XI should be fit and raring to go tonight. Ipswich are generally good at home and don’t often lose 3 home games in a row. I expect top scorer Sears to start the game and I personally think that Ipswich look a better team with him in.
The visitors head into the game currently sat in joint bottom with Rotherham, only above them as their name starts with a B?! Bristol City have won 1 and drawn 2, lost the rest, their form of late has been terrible, they haven’t won in their last 4 games, losing 3 and drawing 1. They did manage to win away from home vs Boro, however, I’m not 100% sure they will be able to continue getting results like this.
Manager Cotterill is under more pressure than ever and needs a result, however, I don’t think it will be vs Ipswich. I know they didn’t have a midweek game and will be fresh, however, Ipswich played a very different XI so I also expect them to be fit and up for todays clash. On paper there should only be one team winning this, plus the league positions of the 2 clubs, the latest form etc. Therefore, I’ll be backing Ipswich to win at a price of 2.10 with Bet365. I think this is a good price all things considered. Good Luck all.
