Frisk Asker vs Storhamar by 20Legend
dominating the first period. However, Lorenskog could not fully take advantage of their dominance and just managed a 1-0 lead to the break. The second period was closer, but also more intense as several 2-minutes suspensions were given through the period. Lorenskog was the better of the teams in terms of taking advantage of their power plays and added another goal as the second period came to an end. Frisk Asker got an almost impossible task to handle in the third period when Lorenskog went up to 3-0. However, it was a slight possibility when Frisk Asker managed to get back to 3-1 after a power play with 5 against 3. It was still five minutes left on the clock, but they never got closer despite having most of the puck throughout those last minutes. Frisk Asker had their two backs Patrick Ullriksen and Nicolay Andersen out in the last game, and they are expected to miss out tonight as well.
Storhamar beat Stjernen (2-6) away from home last Sunday in what turned out to be a rather deserved win as well. Stjernen was very good in the beginning of the match as they took the lead midway through the first period, but Storhamar was able to equalize and make it 1-1 after the first period. Then it was all about Storhamar in the second period as two quick goals made them in control of the game. They used the same recipe in the start of the third period with two quick goals which gave them a 1-4 lead. Stjernen got a second goal on power play after that, but Storhamar was actually never threatened. The visitors clearly showed their dominance when Hampus Gustafsson finished the game of with a shorthanded goal making it 2-6. It is also looking nice in terms of injuries as no big worries are laying in the way for them at this point.
This game will be of vital importance in terms of who will get the 4th place at the table. Frisk Asker (73 pts) is the current holder of that position, with Storhamar (68 pts) chasing two places behind with just five points less than today’s opponent. 5th place Valerenga (70 pts) is in between them, which means that only a win in enough for Storhamar tonight. Storhamar did also show good tendency in their previous win against Stjernen and it is all about taking that approach with them in tonight’s game. The potential is bigger in Storhamar than Frisk Asker as last season was a perfect example of. However, it requires that Storhamar play’s as a team as it was their success-formula from last season. Their meetings has really involved a lot of goals in the latest two seasons and Storhamar did take the first win in January (5-2). I believe in another match with goals as Storhamar do everything to take all points and close down the gap, while Frisk Asker will try to find back to their form previous to their last game, as they enjoyed six straight wins. Over 5.5 goals will be my pick tonight.
