Hungary vs Belgium by Isaiah

Hungarians are one of the brightest surprises at the tournament after they have won the Group F, ahead of Portugal, Iceland and Austria. They are on of only four nations that have scored in all three matches they played till now. Going into this match, they are surely underdogs, but at the same time surely want to continue the championship and have very little to lose.

They were one of very few nations to secure the progress after playing the two games only, however thanks to a very decent performance in the third round as well, the team managed to top the group thanks to a 3:3 draw against Portuguese, showing that they are no pushovers at all, especially since they were leading three times during the match. Of course, defense wasn't at the best of form and it remains to be seen whether the Hungarians were able to improve it in front of even more competitive match.

Hungarians are set to play in 4-2-3-1 formation with Szalai as their number nine and Dzsudzsak, Elek and probably Lovrencics as his offensive support. Their manager Bernd Stock has changed his formation and whole system in each of three group games so far, so probably he will be switching from system to system during the match as well. Zoltan Gera is set to play this one, despite some problems, while doubtful is also right back Attila Fiola, but anyway shouldn't start.

Belgium, on the other side, didn't look that convincing in the group phase, however upped the game plan during it and now, thanks to the draw in the knockout stage, the team does stands out as one of favorites to clinch the big finale. They are kind of a big favorites for this one, while they will be playing against Wales in the quarterfinals in case of a advancing here.

After a poor start at EURO opening game for them, when the team suffered 2:0 defeat to Italy, Belgium responded with two much better performances. It was 3:0 victory over Ireland and a very good performance in the second half and a narrow 1:0 victory in the third round over Swedish side that was looking for a victory. Just like in the second round against Ireland, Belgium limited their opponent to very little action in offense and didn't look like conceding at all.

Belgium should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Lukaku as alone striker, but also with Carrasco, Bruyne and Hazard as offensive midfielders. Their manager Mark Wilmots is unlikely to make any dramatic change in the squad after their victory over Sweden. Mousa Dembele is doubtful after missing the match against Sweden and Radja Nainggolan could partner Alex Witself in the midfield, since Dembele probably isn't fully fit.

  • Belgium have won 6 of their last 7 matches (EURO Cup).

Even though the Hungarians have impressed till now, I believe individual quality will play an important role here. Belgium is very strong in offense and even if Hungarians find a way to make some damage, I believe the Belgians will be able to respond in a proper manner as well.

I agree with your tip, but I believe better value in Belgium scoring 2 goals @ 2,10

  2. reguLator says:

How is that better value than -0.5 AH? Can you explain? Your bet is too specific and not so much higher odds.

But my bet is on Hungary to qualify. This is a value bet. @4.50 is very good.

  3. Ok says:

Value bet? No, just impossible bet.
Hongry never qualify , no level. If u like lost money its ur problem.

  4. reguLator says:

I really love it when people talk with 100% confidence on one outcome… there it is the solution for you; find as much money you can and bet them on Belgium. You will be rich and never have to bet again!

What ? No? You are afraid? But why? Your comment says that it is guaranteed Hungary will be eliminated.

  5. henrique says:

I don’t understand why people should be so harsh on discussing bets. Truth is, nobody knows. Any guess is a good guess, that’s what betting’s all about.

Yes, Belgium’s the hot favourite, but what if Hungary could make it? They have surprised so far. They have been good, they have scored goals. After all, if Belgium’s win was certain, their odd would be something like 1.0001, but it is not. Also, the two favourites France and Germany have made it today. Maybe it’s time for an upset now, in the end of the day, who knows?
