Huesca vs Lugo by Jimeno
Huesca didn't look that well last weekend away from home against UCAM Murcia since the team suffered 3:1 defeat, without showing anything close to their best. It was their third game without a victory, previously taking a home draw against in-form Tenerife 2:2 and prior to that, suffering again 3:1 defeat away to Girona.
Their hosts entered the game much better last Saturday evening, as the players of UCAM Murcia took the double lead with goals from Jona in 18th and 22nd minute. Visitors had more of the ball possession since then, but the home team remained more threatening in the progress. Still, Araujo managed to reduce the deficit in 56th minute, while it was easy for the home team to exploit gaps towards the end of the match and secure the victory thanks to a goal from Morillas in 90th minute. Huesca is now just below the play-off zone, having a point less than sixth placed Valladolid and needs a victory badly here. Right back Nagore (12/1) is out injured for the rest of the season.
Lugo, on the other side, surprised a bit last Sunday evening as the team managed to walk away with a three pointer in a narrow victory over Numancia away from home. Only goal was scored in 61st minute via Joselu, but needs to be said that the home team actually looked better during the ninety minutes.
However, their attacks were that threatening, while the players of Lugo surprised them and then stood well in the defense in the second halftime, not allowing a lot of dangerous situations. This was their first victory after four rounds (three defeats and most recent goalless draw against UCAM Murcia at home weekend earlier), as the team now stands at ninth position - having four points less than Huesca and five less than sixth placed Valladolid, meaning that only a victory here can improve their chances of ending in the play-off zone. Forward Adria Carmona (3/0) remains a long term absentee.
This game means a lot to both sides, since Lugo has no time to wait and if they wanna get closer to the play-off zone, the team will need to risk from the first minute and seek for a victory. Huesca also needs to play for a victory and I can't see anything but this game being very open from the first minute. Both teams scoring seems so likely and surely with chances above 50%.
