Holland vs USA by Neuro
In their last match before this one, Holland had quite a comfortable victory over Spain with a 2:0 result. Final score was sealed early, as they took the lead from a header of de Vrij in thirteenth minute, while Klaasen scored their second just three minutes later. Spaniards had some chances to reduce the deficit later on in the first halftime, while both of the sides had decent goalscoring chances in the repetition, but both of them squandered it and the result didn't change.
That victory surely helped their atmosphere a bit, which was fragile after couple of setbacks in Euro qualifiers, as the team counts two defeats in first five rounds, against Czech Republic 2:1 and Iceland 2:0. Guus Hiddink was close to get sacked from his coaching position, but the federation decided to back him once again. Important winger Robben is still out injured, while goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet from PSV and midfielders Nigel de Jong (Milan), Leroy Fer (QPR) and Hakin Ziyech (Twente) are all also out injured. Hiddink annoounced a the press conference that the players such as Bruma, Martins, Indi, Depay, Huntelaar and Van Persie will start the match. Wesley Sneijder will hardly play this time as he recovers slowly from his injury. Defenders de Vrij and Ron Vlaar are also unlikely to play.
USA is currently preparing for the CONCACAF Gold Cup which will begin next month, as the team firstly decided for two strong tests, having to play in Europe against two huge football nations, first against Holland and the second test will be next week in Cologne against Germany. These two matches will surely show their level of readiness for the important competition they are about to play next month.
Their most recent friendlies ended up positive for the side, as they hardly lost to Denmark 3:2 away from home back in March, also followed by a 1:1 draw against Switzeralnd. Finally, their last friendly was back in April in San Antonio, when the team won over Mexico with a 2:0 result. Striker Jozy Altidore won't be playing here as he remains injured, while his position will be covered by Aron Johansson. Goalkeeper Brad Guzman returns under the post, as their first choice goalkeeper Tim Howard decided to refrain from national team for a year. Midfielder Jermaine Jones is also sidelined with injury and won't play, as well as striker Clint Dempsey.
With the Duthces playing better and better, there should be no problem with covering over 2.5 line. USA has few defensive problems and shouldn't be able to handle the pressure from the hosts, while the home side misses couple of defenders as well and can't guarantee decent defensive performance as well.
