Heerenveen vs Twente by Meese
Heerenveen maybe didn't start the season as most of their fans wanted, but the team broke the ice in the previous Eredivisie round two weeks ago when the team hosted Zwolle and took narrow 1:0 victory. Only goal was scored in fifth minute of second halftime via Larsson, while they overall deserved the victory being way more concrete with the chances created.
Moreover, they had more of the ball possession as well, so there's no doubt that the victory came fully deserved and that the final outcome might have been even bigger margin victory for them. They now have five points out of four rounds, being just a point below the play-off placed Twente, so in case of a victory here, the team could step in, into the play-off places battle.
Home side should be playing in 4-3-3 formation with Zeneli and Slagveer as wingers and Ghoochannejhad as central striker. Manager Jurgen Streppel is expected to make minimal changes in comparison to the previous starting lineup since he anyway has no fresh injury worries and should have no absent players for this one.
Twente, on the other side, similar to their opponents, also didn't make the right start into the season, losing matches to Excelsior and Feyenoord, but the team improved in next two rounds and managed to get two three pointers - away from home in a 4:3 victory over Groningen and in a 3:1 home victory two weeks ago over newly promoted Sparta Rotterdam.
It was perfectly executed match from their side, since the team simply always knew what they wanted with the ball to their feet and didn't need much of the ball possession in order to be very threatening. They opened up the scoreline in 14th minute via Ziyech, doubled up the lead before the halftime whistle via Yeboah and even though the visitors reduced temporarily at the start of second halftime from a penalty, their response came just five minutes later as a second goal from Ziyech to seal the victory.
Visitors from Twente should continue in the 4-2-3-1 formation with Oosterwijk as central striker and Yeboah, Holscher and Ede as offensive midfielders. Manager Rene Hake won't be able to count at four players: Midfielder Vincent Schmidt, defensive midfielder Kyle Ebecilio, central midfielder Dylan Seys, all three without performance so far in the season and forward Enes Unal (3/3).
- SC Heerenveen have seen over 2.5 goals in 6 of their last 7 home matches against Twente.
- Twente have scored at least 2 goals in their last 3 away matches against SC Heerenveen.
Twente has won their last two matches and are surely going into this match with improved morale. Heerenveen is also looking for a victory and I can definitely see this one being a goal festival. They both work much better in offense than in defense and it won't be a miracle if we see five or more goal scored here. Odds are surely worth a try.
