Gimnastic vs Granada by Jimeno
Gimnastic is not enjoying start of the season since they have only one victory in first seven rounds, being at the second from the bottom position with just five points earned. As a side that escaped the relegation battle last season in last couple of rounds, they surely wanted more for their club in the new one, but seems that similar destiny awaits them in this season as well.
The side couldn't do much more during their previous game on Saturday evening as the side visited Tenerife and stood defeated with a 2:0 result. Their hosts were simply way better from the first minute, but only scored once they upped the tempo in the repetition, getting both goals via Malbasic (from penalty in 64th minute and in 72nd minute).
Guests were limited to a very passive role, had little of ball possession percentage and generally didn't create much except couple of chances in the second halftime. Moreover, once they stood playing with a man less in 86th when Suzuki got red carded, it was all over for them. Getting back to home ground, they will surely want to continue the positive momentum after they have won over Albacete in previous game in front of own fans.
Central defender Daisuke Suzuki (5/0) is suspended now, while injured remain central back Mohamed Djetei (no performance so far), left winger Stephane Emana (3/0) and forward Jean Marie Dongou (also didn't perform so far).
Granada, on the other side, relegated from Primera last season and surely aim to get back right away to the first tier of Spanish football. After a couple of setbacks early in the season, the team have won three consecutive matches now and have climbed up to sixth position, surely aiming to continue with good performances and remain one of the strongest candidates for direct promotion.
In the most recent game last weekend, the side managed to get quite easily three pointer at home against Lugo 2:0 on Sunday evening. They were better from the off and didn't need much ball possession to be threatening, opening the scoreline in 25th minute via Espinosa, while the guests were more active in the second and even though the players of Granada stood playing with a man less in 84th when Pedro got excluded, they sealed the victory in second minute of additional time with a goal from Kunde Malong.
Central defender German Sanchez (2/0) is injured, same as striker Adrian Ramos (4/0). Suspended is offensive Pedro (8/4).
- Granada CF have won their last 3 matches.
This match comes as much more than three pointer for both teams, as it can determine the way the things will be going for them this season. Hosts are desperate to continue with positive momentum in front of own fans, otherwise can easily be found soon in relegation battle, while the guests surely remain more quality and surely going for all three points here, while their defensive lineup wasn't completely reliable so far.
