Ghana vs Malawi by Isaiah
Ghana won four times the African Nations Cup, but the last decade has not yielded great results. Constantly something goes wrong for them, as the previous years they had problems with ugly climate in their team, stress and lot of misfortune.
Finally their Football Association hired a good name for their bench, and Kwesi Appiah is now their coach. Appiah passed through all the steps of Ghana, under 17, under 21, and it is now his high time to guide Ghana team. As almost always happens, the targets set are again high, and the win over Malawi is almost sure in terms of their fans.
Their roster includes well known names that are making a career in Europe. Boateng (midfielder, Dnipro), Annan (midfielder, Osasuna), Asamoah (winger, Juventus), and the Ayew brothers are some of their great names. Striker Gyan (Al Ain) returns to the team, although initially stated that he is retiring, he has been made available from Appiah. Defender Mensah (Lyon) and midfielder Muntari (Milan) are the only absents.

Malawi participated twice in the final phase of the African Nations Cup, but without any significant results so far. Their presence was congratulated for a national team that does not boast any successes the last ten years.
In the last qualifying round, Malawi progressed over Chad. They lost 3-2 away from home, but with the 2-0 victory at home, they managed to progress. Till now they showed lot of aggressive virtues, but in defense there are many many problems.
Coach Kinnah Phiri is still there from 2008, and he led Malawi to the group stage back in 2010, with a team that were playing defensive football and aimed for counterattacks. The same plan has been oriented to their game tonight.
Experienced striker Mwafulirwa was not invited to Malawi national team because he is still without team, while most of their players compete in the domestic Malawi league, where the quality is very low. Traditionally, the best players are leaving for a more competitive league in South Africa.
If Ghana will be serious, they can win this one very easily, as there is a big quality gap between the two teams.
