Genk vs Mechelen by Isaiah
Genk left victorious with an adventurous way from Charleroi with a score of 1-2, in a game that they did not worth a lot. With the help of luck and the great performance of goalkeeper Kristof van Hout, they pulled out unscathed in the first half and at the start of the second half they managed to open the score in their first opportunity. Then they were in a passive role and allowed the equalizer in the 90th minute, but with a goal in 92' they took the precious victory and climbed to third place in the standings.
Last Wednesday, deploying a team with reserves, they made an impressive win with the score of 0-6 away to third division team Union SG, and qualified to the next stage of the Cup. Main defender Anele Ngcongca, main goalkeeper Laszlo Koteles and main defender Torben Joneleit are all still out, while main striker Benjamin De Ceulaer is back after minor injury. Genk will be lined with 4-4-2, striker duo will be Vosen and De Ceulaer as usual.
Mechelen had no problems against Mons at home, winning easily with a score of 3-0. Everything was finished in just 13 minutes, as Malin scored during 45'-59'. They had also an easy midweek afternoon, crushing a weak 3rd division team for the Cup with the score of 6-0.
Defender Anthony van Loo is still out injured, the same goes on for substitute striker Ruiz, main goalkeeper Olivier Renard, midfielder Steven de Petter and main defender Boris Pandza. Mechelen will be lined with 4-3-3, with Alessandro Cordaro, Boubacar Diabang and Mads Juncker in front line.
Mechelen is underestimated by the odds. Of course they have a remarkable roster and excellent morale after the last positive results against Gent and Mons, and they can score against Genk's weak defensive line, the same goes for Genk who have a great striker duo with Vosen and De Ceulaer. Both teams to score is my bet.
