Genclerbirligi vs Besiktas by Isaiah
After a decent start in the saeason, Genclerbirligi suffered two consecutive defeats in matches where the team didn't show many of positive things overall. In the most recent game, they suffered 2:1 defeat away from home against modest Rizespor last weekend.
They looked competitive during the match and created more chances, but their lack of organization and concentration in the defensive lineup was evident. Hosts took the lead with a goal from Jantscher in 13th minute, leaving the ball possession mostly to visitors who exploited it and managed to level up the result in 76th minute via Muriqi, but lost the point only five minutes later due to lack of concentration in the defense when Kweuke sealed the winner for Rizespor from the penalty kick. The team is now without a victory in last three league matches, being at eight position with ten points earned, just two more than relegation placed Alanyaspor.
Genclerbirligi should be lined up in 4-2-3-1 formation with Muriqi as central striker. He should have help from Gurler, Kahveci and Stancu as offensive midfielders. Muriqi scored in the previous game coming off the bench and should be starting here. Midfielders Cosmin Matei (1/0) and Marko Milinkovic (2/0) are both out injured.
Besiktas, on the other side, seems to be in a really good momentum now, since the team comes from three consecutive victories in Turkish Super Lig and are sharing the first position together with Basaksehirspor, also coming of a great performance away from home in Champions League match when they won away to Napoli.
In the most recent game, the team won over Antalyaspor last weekend without getting into any problem, taking the lead in 45th minute via Aboubakar, while the guests stood playing with a man less in next minute, making the job even more easier for the home team who exploited that fact and sealed the victory with two goals from Talisca in the repetition.
Visitors from Besiktas should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation as well, starting with Tosun as number nine and with Quaresma, Arslan and Sahan as offensive midfielders. Left back Caner Erkin (6/0) misses out due injury, same as midfielders Veli Kavlak (no performance so far) and Oguzhan Ozyakup (4/2).
- Besiktas have kept a clean sheet in their last 3 away matches (Super Lig).
Besiktas looked really well in previous matches and I see the visitors having easier game than what the odds suggest. Genclerbirligi is completely opposite at the moment and should have that easy game.
