Fulham vs QPR by Shibby
Championship action on a Friday night to be played at Craven Cottage in a 19:45 kick off. The game will see 16th placed Fulham host 9th placed QPR in a game that looks set for goals. The hosts, Fulham seemed to have turned their season around when they went 4 games without defeat (3 wins and 1 draw, league and cup). What strikes me about Fulham is the amount of goals they’ve scored/conceded so far this season (F11 A11 from 7 games), I’ve seem Fulham this season when they visited Rotherham and beat us 3-1. Although they looked strong in attack, their defence was terrible and we could have scored 4 or 5 ourselves.
Manager Kit Symons is under a lot of pressure in my opinion as with the amount of money Fulham have spent in recent years would surely mean promotion, well that’s what you’d think and I’m sure the chairman is also thinking along the same lines. I think with Fulham having the home advantage they have to go for it tonight, and if I’m honest I think they will get at least a goal tonight against a poor QPR defence. Fulham head into tonight’s game on the back of 2 defeats, last Saturday they lost 3-2 away to Sheffield Wednesday. I know a lot of Sheffield Wednesday fans too and they all said that it was a poor game from their perspective, they feel that they didn’t fully deserve the victory. They also lost to Stoke 1-0 in the cup on Tuesday with lanky Crouch scoring the only goal of the game. The game vs Stoke saw Symons make a few changes to his starting XI, so I expect a strong team to be played tonight with McCormack leading the line in the hunt for top goal scorer.
The visitors for the game are QPR, Chris Ramsey like Symons will be under pressure from his Chairman, QPR fans would have expected them to be up near the top of the league by now, 9th isn’t bad, however, I think with them keeping the league’s leading scorer (Charlie Austin) they would have liked to be leading the race by now.
QPR’s form of late like Fulham has been poor, they’ve not won a league game in their last 3 games (2 draws and 1 defeat). They lost to Forest 2-1 and then managed to draws vs Blackburn and Hull, so not too bad. The thing that strikes me is like Fulham, QPR have scored and conceded a lot of goals. They’ve scored 14 and conceded 13 in their first 8 games!
QPR manager Ramsey has hinted that Fer could play his first game of the season due to injury. QPR have goals in their team as do Fulham, both teams will want a win here tonight and I expect there to be goals by both teams. Therefore, I’ll be backing BTTS @ a price of 1.60 with Unibet. If I were pushed for a score prediction, I’d say 2-1 to QPR. Good Luck all.
