Fleetwood Town vs Southend by Shibby
League One action again for me in a game that will see Fleetwood Town host Southend United. The game will be played at the Highbury Stadium and will kick off at 15:00 UK time.
The home side head into this clash the slight favourites at the moment and I agree. They currently lie in 8th in the table and will be looking to build on that tomorrow in front of their home fans. Fleetwood have won 4, drawn 1 and lost 2 of their first 7 games. They do have a game in hand over the majority of clubs already and a win from this game could see them sneak into a play off place. Fleetwood have scored 12 and conceded 11 goals so far this term. They head into the game on the back of a 4-1 drubbing away at Portsmouth. Brett Pitman caused their defenders some issues as he bagged a brace along with Jamal Lowe.
Fleetwood at home have looked like a different team. They have won 3 and drawn 1 of their 4 home league games this season and I think they see the home games as games they can win. They beat Rotherham at home on the opening day of the season and looked decent. I think they will cause the Southend defenders some issues tomorrow.
The visitors for the game are Southend United, a team managed by Phil Brown. His sides are usually quite difficult to break down, however, I don't think this Southend side are. I watched Rotherham rip them to pieces as they put 5 past them at the New York stadium not so long back.
Southend last won a game back on the 5th August on the opening day of the season, this was a 2-1 victory at home vs Blackburn Rovers. Since then they have struggled to get some points. They currently lie in 17th in the table with just 7 points from 8 games. They have managed a win, 4 draws and 3 defeats.
I think that Fleetwood will take the game to Southend and see this as a game they will get a result from. I'll be backing Fleetwood Town + 0.25 AH at a price of 1.69 with BetVictor. Good luck all.
