Feyenoord vs Zwolle by Meese
Feynoord exploited over the home advantage against Zwolle midweek, scored three goals, and advanced to the round of 32 of the Dutch Cup where they will host Ajax to the end of October. Dirk Kuyt was in a great day, scored two goals in the second half and had also more opportunities to score more goals. The unlucky fact for Zwolle was that the first goal came from an own goal and then the rest of the game was more difficult for them.
Anyway, Feyenoord had some great moments in the game where they provided beautiful football, but also had some dead periods that Zwolle could do damage. Feyenoord strengthened in the summer and they have high aspirations for this season, but they need time to gain stability. Their most recent league game was a 1:1 draw away to Roda. No special changes are expected to the original eleven by Van Bronkchorst. There are no injury problems and the squad will be complete.
Zwolle this time has not the luxury to participate to another cup final. The good news are that in the first half they were quite competitive, but the individual errors from their defenders costed them a lot. Generally their appearance was moderate, and I think that today they will appear better than midweek. They surely can claim something better if they will be more careful in defense.
Zwolle now will focus on the league, where they already having a great start. They are unbeaten in the first six games and featured in the third place of the league table. Main keeper Kevin Begois (6 games) will miss the game as he had pain in Thursday training, left winger Ryan Thomas (4/0) is in doubt to participate. Defender Bart Schenkeveld (2/0), right winger Mustafa Saymak and also right winger Karagounis are still sidelined.
The odds are really unfair for Zwolle. They are not bad at all and they can take something from this game if they will be more careful in defense. Anyway, a goal from Feyenoord is in the program, but I do not think that Zwolle will not score today there.
