Ferreira vs Benfica by Isaiah
It seems that nothing works at the moment for Pacos Ferreira, with the team coming from their fifth straight game without a victory. They were defeated in four of these five matches, most recently with a 2:3 score at home against Nacional last Sunday evening. Visitors exactly knew what they wanted, trying to play more on counter-attacks which they did in an excellent manner.
Players of Pacos Ferreira held the ball more and were creating chances but in a somehow passive way, while the visitors opened the scoreline in 41st minute via Joao. Aurelio and Matis brought them into the 3:0 lead five minutes before the end of the game, while the hosts only managed to reduce the deficit in last minutes with two goals from Urreta. Once again their defense wasn't up to the task and it's the only reason why the team only stands at the middle of the table with 23 points earned so far, eight less than Europa League placed Braga. At least they have no relegating problems and will try to make a huge surprise here, knowing that they can't afford only to defend against such a quality side. Central defender Rafael Amorim (13/1) is out for this game, same as their second top goalscorer midfielder Urreta (14 matches, 5 goals).
Benfica, on the other side, comes from a 0:2 away victory in League Cup game against Moreirense last Wednesday evening, where the visitors tried to rest as much as possible key players for more important league matches. They had the supremacy through the match, but only sealed the victory with goals withing four minutes into the second part of repetition with an own goal and goal scored by Jonas.
This was their seventh consecutive victory in all competitions, as the team kept the clean sheet in all of those matches. As for the league, they won over Maritimo 4:0 last weekend also away from home, showing their touch of class in both defensive lineup and attacking part of the team. After yesterday's setback of Porto when they lost to Maritimo, there is no doubt that the team will approach this game with a boosted morale and determined to get an easy victory from the start. They are currently six points above Porto and in case of a three pointer here, the team would be even more closer to the title this season. Visitors will be without important injured midfielder Gaitan (17/4) and less important defensive midfielder Fejsa (no performance this season), midfielder Ruben Amorim (2/0), defenders Cesar (3/0) and Lisandro Lopes (4/0), all four without significant playing time this season.
There is no doubt that Benfica should get an easy victory here, but the value lies with goals in this one. Benfica on their own has the quality score three goals, while their hosts will surely try to jeopardize them as well, knowing that they don't stand a chance in case of defending only. Open game from both ends and score similar to 1:4 is very likely here, giving us juicy value with over close to even odds.
