Sonderjyske vs Stromsgodset by Luke
Sonderjyske looked quite well during the whole previous season, but coudln't compete in the end against much more quality FC Copenhagen and had to get satisfied with the second position at the table. They ended up with nine points less than champions league side Copenhagen, but also had three points more than third placed Middtjylland in the end.
As for the preparation period, the team had two defeats at the start, to Start and Lyngby, but improved with a victory over Fredericia 3:1 and a 1:1 draw against Holstein Kiel in the last friendly match played before this game, back on 8th July.
Sonderjyske is probably going to be weaker than in previous season, since the team failed to bring some great addition that would change their level, while the team remained without few important players. Their league is set to start this weekend, with the team facing up against Aarhus at home. Important midfielder Nicolaj Madsen is injured for this one.
It could be said that Stromsgodset is in much better situation for this game, since the team is already in a competitive form as their season remains underway in Norway. not only that, but could be said that the team is also in a decent form now, coming from two straight victories in domestic league, at home against Aalesund 4:2 and on the road against Viking 1:0 last weekend.
They visited Viking on Saturday evening and managed to pull out all three points thanks to a goal scored in 79th minute via Keita. However, it needs to be said that it was quite a defensive game from both sides and that the visitors only a bit more lucky to score the winner, not being better overall on the field for ninety minutes. With this victory, they remained third at the table, having seven points less than leaders from Rosenborg and four points less than second placed Odd.
Their manager Ingebretsen Petter Bjorn missed previous two matches due health problems, but is now ready to sit again on the bench. Midfielder Tokmac Nguen (13/3) is injured, with the team having no other real problem for tonight's game.
This will be first game in Europe for Sonderjyske and even though they are considered as small favorites, I don't see the game going completely in their favor. Stromsgodset is surely in better competitive form and knowing the way both teams play, I would be surprised not to see here three goals at least.
