MIdtjylland vs Vaduz by 20Legend
Midjylland had to take the 3rd place in the Danish league last season with 59 points from 33 games. That has to be stated as a bit disappointing for the club as it was 12 points up to the title winners FC Copenhagen and three points up to the 2nd place Sonderjyske. They have great memories from this tournament last season with the matches against Manchester United to be remembered the most.
The club is certainly aiming for another positive experience in the group stage and they have a strong squad that could make it happen. Offensive players like Martin Pusic, Vaclav Kadlec and Pione Sisto are all players that can make chances and goals against a team like tonight. Vaduz are the most professional team in Lichtenstein as they won the cup final 11-0 this season. The team therefore plays in the Swiss league instead where they became 8th last season.
Even though that was only two places away from relegation, they still got an opportunity to qualify for Europa League through their win in the cup final. Vaduz faced the Macedonian team Sileks in the first round and won quite easily. They just finished the season, but has also played a friendly between the matches in the qualification for Europa League. That makes them perfectly in shape towards this match as well.
This is a match where the difference in qualities should be quite clear. Midtjylland is a very strong team and have all their best players available. Vaduz is used to a different league and they obviously lack some defensive structure that is needed at this level. The club finished last season with 44:60 on goal difference from 36 games with 24:40 on goal difference away from home in the league. It should be way too tough for them here and I expect Midtjylland to score at least two goals tonight.
