Lyon vs Atalanta by Enzo
Lyon comes from a real setback last weekend in Ligue 1, as everyone expected them to beat Dijon at home but the have ended up with a 3:3 result. They had much more of the ball possession, but in overall open game, players of Dijon really worked hard and had great number of chances, not leaving the impression of being underdogs during it.
On contrary, they fairly deserved a point here, as their hosts took the lead in 20th minute via Fekir, however guests replied from a penalty kick couple of moments later via Sliti, while Xeka brought them into the lead at the start of second halftime. Aouar and Diaz quickly reverted the scoreline back to Lyon's favor, however Dijon leveled up the game again, in 66th minute via Yambere for the final result even though the hosts did attack in order to get the three pointer, without many concrete things in last ten minutes. After this point taken, Lyon remains just seventh at the table, having three points less than Champions League placed St Etienne. After also just a point taken away to Cyprus in first round, players of Lyon simply need to seek for a three pointer in this one.
Talented midfielder Pape Cheikh is sidelined due injury here, but anyway without performing so far in the season. Defender Rafael (3/0) is doubtful for this one and might not be risked. Similar to other defender Fernando Marcal (4/0). Memphis Depay didn't play at the weekend but should be back in contention for this one.
Atalanta, on the other side, comes from a point taken away to Fiorentina, result that surely is a positive one since they reached the equalizing goal in fourth minute of additional time, however must be said that they had much more of the ball possession and chances created and surely did deserve even more.
Players of Viola took the lead very early, in 12th minute via Chiesa and got satisfied with it, trying to keep the clean sheet and get out with the victory, but the players from Bergamo looked way better on the field and even missed a penalty kick in the middle of second halftime. It was fourth consecutive match without defeat for Atalanta, as the side now stands at ninth posiiton at the table. As for Europa League, they got a victory over Everton 3:0 at home in first round and a even a point here would probably increase their chances of reaching the knockout stage.
Midfielder Joao Schmidt is sidelined from the start of the season, while central defender Rafael Toloi (5/0) and offensive midfielder Josip Ilicic (6/1) both got injured in a match against Fiorentina last weekend and should skip this one.
Lyon remains a favorite here, but I see team from Bergamo being very dangerous in this one. French side plays open minded and attacking football, usually ending with a goal in their net too, while the visitors look generally well in recent weeks and know that they can't only stay behind the ball and wait for their chance here. Both teams to score and at least three goals to be scored is my first betting choice.
