Genk vs Lokomotiva Zagreb by Meese
Genk comes into this match from quite an impressive performance last weekend away from home when their players managed to get a 3:0 victory on the road to Lokeren. They scored in the perfect time, taking the double lead near the end of the first halftime, thanks to goals from Samata in 34th and 38th minute. Bailey added another one just when the second halftime started, which didn't make the home team surrender, on contrary.
Hosts were attacking and managed to miss even two penalty kicks later on, while their game-play was destroyed once they stood playing with a man less in 60th minute. It was good to see players of Genk getting back to winning ways, after three matches without a victory. After four rounds played, they are now fifth at the table, having just three points less than leaders from Waregem. Everyone in the club described this match as a key to their season and representing that entrance to the group stage is one of key targets for the club.
Home side won't be able to count at defender Castagne who anyway didn't perform till now in the season, but also at team captain and midfielder Buffel (3/0) and forward Tshimanga, who also didn't perform till now. They should be playing in quite offensive 4-3-3 formation.
Even though the team managed to make some progress in the Europa League qualifiers and kick-out some more known clubs, the team of Lokomotiva Zagreb continues with rather poor performances in the domestic league and they are holding the rock bottom position for now, surely very worrying situation for everyone in the club.
After six rounds played, they have only two points earned and are still searching for the first victory, as the busy schedule of playing in Europe surely have influenced them this time. They come from a 2:1 defeat away to Inter Zapresic, without showing some improvement, as for the domestic league. After a 2:2 draw from the first leg, their chances aren't big now, but the team will need to show maybe even more of their effectivity, since they surely won't get many goal scoring chances this time out.
Lokomotiva Zagreb will be playing this one without forward Radonjic (2/1) who is out injured and their only absentee worry.
In case the players of Genk repeat anything close to what they looked like against Lokeren, I have no doubts that they'll reach the group stage with ease tonight. Lokomotiva will hardly be able to repeat some of their offensive performances from the first leg.
