Fiorentina vs Qarabag by Isaiah
Fiorentina is not enjoying that much early start in the season, but some improvement is obvious in their most recent matches. They are now undefeated in last four games in Serie A, but also having quite tough schedule since the team had to play against Roma and Milan at home, also Udinese on the road in last two weeks.
With two victories, two draws and a defeat, they are in the middle of Serie A, but as said, with improvement in form and having playing a game less than the others. In the most recent match, they took a point in a goalless game at home against Milan, even though they were more solid out of two opponents and missed some really good chances, including a penalty kick. As for Europa League, the side took a point in a goalless game against PAOK on the road and can feel content regarding that outcome.
Hosts continue to miss central defender Davide Astori (4/0) with a calf injury and he should be their only injury worry. Viola is surely aiming three pointer here against "on the paper" weakest link in the group and a victory would ease their further qualification later on.
As for Qarabag, team seems to be in pretty decent form for their standards, as they count six consecutive matches in all competitions without defeat. Most recently, they took a point in a 1:1 draw on the road against Kapaz, making a setback in their title bid of the new season in Azerbaijan.
With 4-1-1 record, the team is third at the table, having three points less than leaders from Gabala. As for Europa League, they come from a 2:2 home draw against Liberec where the team showed great fighting spirit to bounce back twice from being down in the scoreline and fight back with an equalizer in fourth minute of additional time. Since all teams have a point earned, they remain with some chances to progress further, but knowing that in reality they are huge underdogs and surely will be playing here with defensive mindset. Their coach Gurban Gurbanov should have no fresh injury nor suspension worries.
Fiorentina is better and remains a favorite here, however I'm sure that the visitors will be playing quite defensively and I don't see players of Viola breaking them that easily this time out. It's obvious that the hosts have problems creating and especially scoring goals and three goals here will be a surprise for me.
