Brondby vs Hajduk by Meese
Brondby progressed over Finnish side VPS in the second qualifying round of Europa League last Thursday evening, but the fact is that it wasn't far away from an easy clash. Danish side took 2:0 victory in the first leg and actually missed plenty of chances to get more convincing victory, however they entered into trouble in second leg, even though they were superior to their opponent once again.
Players of VPS took the lead in eleventh minute via Voutilainen, with the guests leveling up via an own goal five minutes later. Hosts again took the lead in 40th minute via Sohna, while the players of Brondby stood playing with a man less since 51st minute when Kliment got straight red card. Players of Brondby remained better and had plenty of chances created, having a positive result as well, however it wasn't pleasant situation for them having a player less. Brondby suffered 3:2 defeat last Sunday evening away to Nordsjaelland probably paying the price of their busier schedule.
Home team will not be counting at injured defender Kabongo (0/0) and midfielder Tibbling (0/0), while suspended remains forward Kliment (2/1).
Hajduk had one of the strongest possible opponents in the second qualifying round of Europa League, as the Croatian team had to play against Bulgarian giants from Levski. They already showed themselves as more concrete side in the first leg when the team took a narrow 1:0 victory over Bulgarians at home.
Second leg was even more interesting and even though the players of Levski took the lead in 69th minute via Bus, Hajduk replied well in last ten minutes with two goals (via Ohandza and Erceg), deserving their victory completely as they were previously before conceded goal better as well. They have started the domestic league with a 1:3 victory over Lokomotiva Zagreb, while they took a point on the road to Zapresic in a 2:2 draw last Sunday evening, probably also paying the price of a bit more busier schedule.
Visitors won't be counting at goalkeeper Grbic (0/0) for this one, but also at midfielder Basic (0/0) also.
Brondby is much stronger in front of own fans and the team knows that they need to attack here and search for a positive result, however Hajduk is far away from a naive side and will surely try to seek for a goal scored and a positive outcome as well. It's a game between two sides which are improving and in quite decent form in recent matches, something that tells me we will see very interesting match and quite open from both sides, hopefully with three goals scored at least.
