Arka Gdynia vs Midtjylland by Meese
Arka Gdynia actually didn't have good season in the Ekstraklasa at all, as the team barely escaped the relegation in last round when they managed to win over Zaglebie on the road and end up the season with two points more than relegating placed Leczna, however they were a bit lucky, but also had good results in domestic Cup competition where they earned the European exit.
They won the Cup's finale game against Lech Poznan celebrating 1:2 victory after extra time played back early in May - must be said that they played tactically well, but also that the players of Lech Poznan were much better and it simply wasn't their day in the offensive part of the game. This season was opened in the best possible way, as the team won Super Cup game winning after penalties against Legia, once again being inferior but using their chances well. Esktraklasa started for them with a victory over Slask 2:0 at home and a point taken against newly promoted Sandecja last weekend in a goalless draw.
Midfielder Dominik Hofbauer (25/2 in previous season) and defender Antoni Lukasiwicz (26/1 in previous season) won't be playing here due injuries.
Midtjylland, on the other hand, finished fourth in the previous season of Danish Superliga, having to play additional play-off game for Europa League, where they won over Randers 3:0. The side also already had four matches in Europa League, progressing over Irish side Derry City 10:2 on aggregate score in first round.
Second round they awaited Hungarian side Ferencvaros, but once again showed that offenisve part of the game is their weapon, as they took 2:4 victory on the road in first leg and celebrated convincingly in the re-match game as well, with a 3:1 victory last Thursday evening. They couldn't do more in the Superliga opener against Brondby on the road when they lost 4:0, but improved picture of themselves on Sunday evening when the team hosted Silkeborg and celebrated 2:0 victory (goals from Dal Hende and Onuachu).
Talented central defender Rasmus Nicolaisen (no performance so far in the season) is sidelined with a knee injury, while doubtful remains midfielder Jonas Borring (34/4 last season) who is coming from an injury.
Style of Midtjylland is something that should make this game very open from both ends. There's no doubt that the visitors will also try to attack and score, in order to make the second clash much more easier. I see plenty of value with three goals at least being scored here.
