Estonia vs Greece by Isaiah
Estonia suffered heavy defeat away to Bosnia in the first round, but the team responded way better in the second qualifying round when they won over Gibraltar 4:0 in front of own fans few days ago. Still, the opponent is far away from any quality side and can't be compared to any medium level of European football, but still the victory will surely be used in order to boost the morale ahead of matches against way stronger teams.
Players of Estonia were better from the start of the game, but only managed to convert opportunities into goals in the second halftime. It seems like the things got much easier for them once they opened up the opponent with a goal from Kait in 47th minute. Vassiljev doubled up the lead already five minutes later, while the Estonians scored two more at the latter phase of the match, via Kait again in 70th and Mosnikov two minutes before the end of the match.
Having in mind that they are drawn together with Belgium, Greece and Bosnia, the team generally already can't expect to get in the top two positions and can use this match in order to boost their performances in next months and years to come. Home side will miss goalkeeper Kotenko (27/0), defenders Jaager (121/0), Morozov (29/0), midfielders Puri (69/4) and Kink (82/6) out of more known players who played recently.
Greece has finally started the qualifications finally in a good way, having won previous two matches without entering into real problems in neither of these. They won away from home against Gibraltar 4:1, but also kinda outplayed Cyprus in the second round at home 2:0.
Greeks have opened up the game very well, taking the lead completely deservedly in 12th minute with a goal from Mitroglou, increasing the lead in 42nd minute with a goal from Mantalos. In the second halftime, they looked like trying to save some energy and generally looked more passive on the field, however without allowing Cypriots creating really dangerous situations in front of their own goal.
Greece won't be able to count at midfielder Samaris (26/1) and Christodoulopoulos (28/1) and defender Moras (27/0) out of more known players who played recently.
Greece proved in previous two matches that they are in a decent form and the visitors should be able to complete a victory here. Quality of Estonia should be no match for a bit improved Greek side.
