Esbjerg vs Odense by DamirJ

Good performance was shown against Midtjylland on the road, but still, Esbjerg didn't collect a single point once again. In the first half-time, they were really better opponent with a few goal scoring chances, but didn't manage to break the defense. In the second half, the teams looked more equal on the pitch with the hosts scoring near the end of the time, while Esbejrg didn't have any significant chance later on.

After eight rounds played, the things are looking terrible for them with only three draws, five losses and the most worrying thing - they hardly find a way to opponents net, having scored only once in previous four matches. Being the only team without a victory in the league and with some recent good performances, they are surely looking to improve the things and earn a victory finally. Important defender Hansen is back in the squad after serving a suspension, while midfielder Smarasson is available again after an injury. On the other hand, hosts will have to do it without long term injured players: defenders Rauschenberg and Drobo-Ampem, just as striker Vestergaard.

Odense, on the other side, is having a decent start in the league with four wins, two draws and two losses. They currently hold fourth position, just four points below FC Copenhagen. They are coming from two league matches without a win, however the things aren't looking that bad. At home against Aalborg, they had to play with a man less from the beginning of the match, from the first minute, while they were held by Copenhagen to 2:2 only, although they were better side and had a few clear chances to take all three points.

Break in the league came in a great moment for them, as they recovered a few players from injuries. With the players back in the squad they have only one target in this match - to get the victory and come closer to the top of the standings. Several changes is expected in guests' squad, mostly due to recovered players that didn't play in previous rounds. Newly signed midfielder Vadocz, striker Pedersen and defensive midfielder Silberbauer might be handed debut, while main goalkeeper Christiansen and defender Hong are available once again. Only injured player remains midfielder Sorensen who is missing from the beginning of the season.

Odense seems to be in much better form at the moment. With three newly signed players and two returning, they are surely one of the better sides in Superligaen, while Esbjerg seems to be in terrible form without too much creativity in their midfield and with huge problems in attack. Odds shouldn't be that equal and the guests should surely be much closer to the victory.
