Esbjerg vs Midtjylland by Meese
After three consecutive defeats in all competitions and four matches in a run without a goal scored, Esbjerg managed to improve slightly and they took a point in a 2:2 home draw against Lyngby last weekend. However, it needs to be said that they were lucky and that their visitors have shown much more during the game and deserved more than just a point.
Visiting side looked better and took the double lead towards the end of the first halftime when they scored goals via Rygaard Jensen and Christjansen. Hosts improved during the second halftime and managed to create some dangerous situations, including goals scored via Lund and an own goal, towards the end of the game. No wonder that the team remained at the rock bottom position for now, having only eight points earned out of thirteen matches played. They will now be looking to stay undefeated again, but it's hard to see they being lucky twice in a row. Hosts should have no fresh injury nor suspension worry.
Midtjylland, on the other side, maybe didn't have the most perfect start in the season, but the team is doing better in recent weeks and still have plenty of chances to recover fully and get through to the second position at least. At the moment, they are fourth at the table and in case of a victory here, the team would take the second position and would have six points less than leaders from Copenhagen.
Last weekend Midtjylland celebrated 2:0 easy victory at home against Aalborg, without showing their full potential. Hosts looked slightly better from the first till last moment and overall impression is that they didn't push to hard in order to get the victory, taking it with goals from Banggaard in 40th and Wikheim during the additional time. They have a bit mediocre 2-2-2 record on the road, but there's no doubt that the team aims for a three pointer when visiting the one of the weakest teams in the league. Defensive midfielder Tim Sparv is long term absentee
One way or another, Midtjylland should be able to get the easy victory here. Gusts are having way better squad and plenty of individual quality and should be able to get the victory here with more than two goals scored and without getting into problems in latter phase of the game.
