Eibar vs Las Palmas by Jimeno
Eibar is obviously in a bit of a downtrend in their form, since the team has only one victory in last five Primera matches. However, it needs to be said that they had quite a difficult schedule as well, as the team had visits to Bilbao, Atletico Madrid and Celta Vigo. In the most recent game, they suffered 3:2 defeat away to Celta Vigo, without being really competitive on the field.
Their opponents entered really strongly into the match, have formed double lead after the first halftime, thanks to goals from Guidetti in 31st and Jonny in 39th minute, while Guidetti netted another on in the middle of the second half. All the visitors were able is to reduce the defecit with two goals inside the last six minutes, via Berjon (from a penalty kick) and via Inui, however without much chances to snatch a point in the end. After this defeat, they are at seventh position, being in a must win here in order to keep the European spot for now. Eibar is set to play in 4-2-3-1 formation with Baston as striker. Jota, Adrian and Inui should be his offensive support. Midfielder Dani Garcia will be back in the midfield, alongside Gonzalo Escalante. Defender Ivan Ramis is doubtful for this game, but with some chances to play. Offensive midfielder Keko (21/3) is injured, same as left back Antonio Luna (10/0) and central back Borja Ekiza (3/0).
Las Palmas, on the other side, had a very difficult task last weekend when they welcomed Barcelona and actually surprised with only a narrow 1:2 defeat that day. However, victory for the away team was never in question, since they entered the game really well, opening the lead already in sixth minute via Suarez. Even though the hosts temporarily equalized in tenth minute with a goal from Willian Jose, Barca regained the lead just before the halftime whistle in 39th minute via Neymar.
Visitors had important Champions League game few days later, so it's not a big surprise that they lowered down the tempo in the second halftime and got satisfied with a narrow victory. This was third consecutive defeat for Las Palmas in Primera, as they continue to be in the red zone, currently at eighteenth position with three points less than safely placed Gijon. Away from home they've been terrible for now with 0-3-9 record and a point here would be quite a surprise for them. Visitors, on the other side, will be playing in 4-3-3 formation with Jose, Zhar and Momo as forwards. Their coach probably won't make many changes in comparison to the side that stood well against Barcelona last weekend. Midfielders Javi Castellano (1/0), Vicente Gomez (14/1) are injured, as well as defensive midfielder Hernan (14/1) and right full back David Simon (22/1).
Las Palmas did well against Bacelona, but their opponents still got what they needed. On the other side, they are completely diffent team away from home and I can't see them getting something away against rock solid Eibar. Home team should prevail easy or hard.
