Dundee Utd vs St Johnstone by Neuro
Dundee United seemed unstoppable in their FA Cup game last weekend, as the team didn't allow Inverness to do anything positive on the field and cruised to a 5:0 victory, taking a qualification to the semifinals of the Scottish Cup. They have opened the scoreline in eight minutes, while 3:0 was at the halftime, adding two more as a formality in the second half.
It's also worth mentioning that Inverness was left with a ten man due to exclusion of Tansey in 44th minute, while they played with two man less since 77th and exclusion of Watkins, but it was 5:0 already back then. Easy victory of the team left great impression to their fans, as the coach McNamara expressed his delight following the victory. Being on a run of five straight victories in all competitions, there is no doubt that the team will be looking for another one and try to keep the distance to European tickets. Winger Gauld (22 matches, 5 goals, 7 assists) probably returns for this game, while central defender Good (4/1) remains injured for the fourth week. Another central defender, Souttar (18/1) is out for last couple of weeks too.
St Johnstone is coming from an easy 3:1 victory on the road against Raith Rovers and also have qualified for the semifinals of the Scottish Cup. The team entered the game very cautiously, trying to make as little mistakes as possible and generally looked well on the field.
They took the lead already after four minutes, showing great determination to get the victory, but got drawn in 21st. In the repetition, they showed determination once again and took the much deserved qualification. Coach Wright said that he is perfectly happy with the image of his team and made it clear that he wants to continue at the same rate with his players. Important central midfielder Davidson (21/1) will be out for this game, same as goalkeeper Mannus (23/0). Central defender Wright (19/0) is out injured till May, while left back Scobbie (21/0) also won't play due injury. Finally, striker MacLean (12/6) is out for this game too, being suspended.
Home side remains favorite after their performance against Inverness just a few days ago. However, both teams have defensive gaps and over goals seems like the most appropriate choice here as neither of the teams are expected to keep their sheet clean.
