Doncaster Rovers vs Scunthorpe United by Shibby
League One action again for me, the game will be played between newly promoted South Yorkshire side Doncaster Rovers and Scunthorpe United. The game will be played at the Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster and will kick off at 15:00 UK time (17/09/2017).
The home side head into the game without a league win in their last 5 games, these 5 games have seen 2 draws and 3 losses. Doncaster currently lie in 16th in the table, just 6 points from their first 7 games. Darren Ferguson hasn't done great this term, last season they looked solid, I don't think they have brought the correct players to the club and I see them struggling this season.
Doncasters last game was a dramatic one. The game was away at Bury and ended 2-1 in favour of the home side, Bury. Doncaster were leading with a 74th minute John Marquis goal, however, a massive lapse of concentration in stoppage time saw Doncaster concede 2 goals and lose the game!! This will have no doubt dented their confidence and as a result I think they will struggle to shine today. I think if they don't start the game well the fans will get on their back and this could cause issues.
The visitors for the game are Scunthorpe United, they had a good season last term and were strong favourites to gain promotion at one point. They are currently 11th in the table and they will know that a win here today will see move up the table for sure. Scunthorpe have only lost 1 game in their first 7 fixtures, this was their last game which ended 1-0 at home to Blackburn Rovers. Prior to that they had managed 3 wins and 3 draws and actually looked difficult to beat.
Their away results have been ok, 2 of their 3 wins have been away from home. They beat Plymouth 4-0 and then Bury 1-0, so 2 clean sheets away from home. The other away result ended 1-1 vs Rochdale.
I think Scunthorpe can win this game, however, I think I'll use the Asian Handicap market here, I'll be backing Scunthorpe + 0.25 AH at a good price of 1.78 with Unibet. Good luck all.
