Dijon vs Arles-Avignon by Isaiah
Dijon was deservedly defeat away from home against Troyes last weekend with a 2:0 result. Hosts from Troyes completely dominated from the first minute of the game, have scored twice and were threatened in very few occasions, while the visitors completely disappointed.
Simply, three points went to the hands of much better side that night. On the other side, Dijon continues their poor run to five matches without a victory, as the team seems to be losing ground in the most important tie for them. Poor form saw them going down the table to ninth position at the moment and tonight's game seems to be their do or die. In case of not getting the victory tonight, there is no doubt that their chances for the top three would be done, as the difference is five points now. Three players will be absent for today's game, as they miss defender Remy (13/1), striker Bela (4/0) and suspended midfielder Paye (25/0), who is actually the only important missing in their team tonight.
Arles-Avignon, on the other side, comes from a 2:2 draw at home against Istres. Istres has preceded two times, but the players of Arles showed great fighting spirit and had the courage to attack when it was needed the most. Generally, two teams have shared the points and impressions in quite fair way.
No doubt that Arles is even in much deeper crisis then their today's opponent, as the team reached the run of eight games without a single victory. Poor run made them fall to 12th position at the table and more worrying, only five points difference to the relegation zone. Atmosphere is not the best since the current results are disappointing, with the defensive being their biggest problem as they have conceded ten goals in last five games. Striker Savanier (17/0) remains sidelined, as the side also misses offensive midfielders Ben Saada (13/0) and Fortes (18/0). Defender Givet (22/1) is also out, same as striker Ben Daoud (10/0), while suspended will be important midfielder Rodriguez (25/0).
Both teams are in a crisis of results, but there is no doubt that Dijon can bounce back to positive ways much easier. Home side is a favorite here, not only because of their quality, but also because they are awaiting opponent who is in a very poor form and misses a lot of important players.
