Cork City vs Shamrock by Luke

Cork City comes from a 1:2 victory last time out on Monday evening as the team managed to get a three pointer in a difficult away game against Sligo Rovers. They were favorites before the game and everyone expected them to claim another easy victory, but it didn't start that well for them since the hosts took the lead in 22nd minute via Sadlier from the penalty kick.

However, from that moment on players of Cork have initiated their dominance over the field and remained better till the end of the match which paid off to them in the second halftime when the team leveled up in 64th minute via Campion, while O'Connor brought them the victory in 81st minute. After this game they naturally remained first at the table, now having fifteen points more than second placed Dundalk.

Home team will has no sure absentee for this one, but midfielders Steven Beattie (10/1), Gearoid Morrissey (12/3) and forward Karl Sheppard (15/8) all three remain doubtful.

Shamrock Rovers, on the other hand, also comes from a three pointer taken in front of own fans against Galway last Monday evening with a 2:0 result. They were better than the opponent in both halves, simply playing as much as they needed in order to get the victory which was fully deserved this time.

Hosts took the lead in 36th minute with a goal from Shaw, while Miele increased the lead in 68th minute for the final result. This was their third victory in last four rounds in Premier Division, as the team now stands fifth at the table having four points less than Europa League placed Bray and should come out with something from this one. Away from home they are having two victories and five defeats, surely having more than challenging game as they faced up against the strongest side in the country. Visitors should only miss midfielder Paul Corry (2/0).

Quality difference between these two sides is obvious, as well as current form and momentum. If Cork plays anywhere close to their potential, this will be quite easy game for them, therefore I still see value with Asian handicap home victory.

  2. Stan says:

I was thinking to post the same tip! Good luck :))

  3. Witsel says:

@Stan…Thanks for your wonderful picks. I play your games a lot, with Les risk and I have virtually all my bet. I have been expecting your today tips. As for Cock City. What’s your pick? Cock city to win or score over 1.5 goals? I await your urgent response

    Thanks Luke for the tip..

  4. Stan says:

@Witsel the name of the team is not Cock City :D it’s CoRk City, although your version is better! I played it as Luke -1AH. Cork City over 1.5Goals is good tip, too. They are unbelievable this season, expecially at home. Guests have to be no problem for them, but still 2:1 for Cork is a possible result.

I won’t post today tips here, but if you want to play something in tennis I suggest you to bet on Tsonga, Wawrinka and Bertens. They are huge favourites today, maybe Raonic, too :)) GL!

  5. Witsel says:

    Thanks Stan..

  6. Chkito says:

    Shamrock rovers will win

  7. Looza says:

Where bertens play today and when?

  8. Looza says:

On what base they win than?

  9. Stan says:

Don’t listen to him.. another troll in this site :))

  10. Stan says:

Well, she finished her match in Nurnberg (SF) against Misaki Doi. Bertens won the 1st set but then in the start of the 2nd Doi retired, so tomorrow is her final against Krejcikova.

  11. Otown says:

Rovers are not to be underestimated and Cork are levelling out slightly after their incredible run of games… That being said, Cork on paper should beat Rovers, especially at Turners cross. Karl Sheppard is leading Cork’s incredible run and is no doubt the main man, he has been flying this season, but his fitness is a doubt for tonight’s game and without him they will not be as dangerous an opposition.

Rovers play some good football, arguably the best in the league, and can beat anyone on their day.

My prediction Cork 2 v 1 Rovers … should Sheppard be fit.

    My bet BTTS… GL

    Ps… I’m Irish

  13. Dude says:

  14. Dude says:

    Ps… Im drunk.

  15. Fbombs says:

Done in 65 minutes for over 1.5 goals.

  16. Dude says:

    Great pick Luke, thx.

  18. TFB says:

Pretty sure Maguire is the main man for Cork, not Sheppard. Although he will be when Maguire moves to the UK.

    PS. #1 Irish tipster.

  19. Otown says:

Glad to see the pick come through Luke.

BTTS was @1.9 so you lads were right not to pick that over the -1. Rovers red card early in the 2nd at 1-1 didn’t make a difference either. @tfb try watching a game instead of picking the guy who scores the most goals.

Dropping some actual local knowledge into the review and you get no appreciation. I’ll drown my sorrows in my victory money ;)

What strange way this game but we pick it right at the end .
