Club Brugge vs Kortrijk by Meese
Club Brugge managed to survive the derby game away to Anderlecht last weekend, as the team looked more passive than they should, but still took a point holding the opponent till the end. Ball possession was shared between the teams, but the home team had more of the chances created and actually deserved the victory.
Still, players of Club Brugge were awarded for their fighting spirit and defensive stability, remaining undefeated in their last eight Jupiler matches. However, their overall form isn't impressive one, since the team had negative results in Champions League plus were excluded from the CUp competition in 1/8 finals few weeks ago away to Eupen. They are now at the second position with thirty-four points earned, which is just a point less than first placed Waregem and six more than seventh placed Standard, meaning that they remain in a must win situation in order to continue chasing the title.
Central defender Stefano Denswil (18/1) is suspended for this one, while injured remain offensive players Anthony Limbombe (14/0) and Jose Izquierdo (10/5).
Kortrijk, on the other hand, comes from a third straight defeat last weekend, this time in front of own fans against St Truiden they suffered narrow 1:0 defeat. Only goal was scored back in sixth minute via Janssens, with the players of Kortrijk actually being better and more dominant on the field, but the result simply didn't change.
Naturally, they created more chances as well, but it simply wasn't good day for their strikers, while the offer impression is that the draw would have been perhaps a bit more fairer outcome. As said, it was third defeat in the league, as Kortrijk remains tenth at the table with twenty-four points earned, seven less than play-off placed sides and enough away from the relegation trouble for now. Away from home they actually had some decent results and had decent record, probably benefiting from lack of pressure on the road.
Club Brugge needs to respond here and get a victory and I'm pretty sure they will be taking an easy three pointer here. Kotrijk might be playing a bit more relaxed and can easy score a goal, but the victory for Brugge seems to sure, as well as plenty of goals during the match.
