Clermont vs Bourg Peronnas by Lucien
Clermont looked very poor last time out, as the team entered the game last Friday evening in a really passive fashion away to Tours, allowing their hosts to take the lead already in third minute via Diarra. Home team doubled up the lead in 44th via Bouanga, being way more attacking and concrete side in the first halftime.
Second part was much more equal, while the guests also trying to respond, but the hosts scored third during the additional time once again via Bouanga. This was fourth consecutive game for Clermont without a victory, previously having two consecutive draws, as the team now stands at thirteenth position with eight points more than red zone placed Orelans and with a point here, they would secure the status for the next season. Right full back Cyriaque Rivieyran (27/0) and left midfielder Wesley Jobello (27/3) didn't play in last two matches due injury problems, while suspended for this one should be central defender Cedric Avinel (30/0).
Bourg Peronnas also disappointed in last round, as the team suffered narrow home defeat against Sochaux with a 0:1 result last Friday evening. Only goal was scored in 40th minute via Martin, in a game that belonged to the home team that did much more on the field and surely did deserve more than a narrow loss.
However, visitors exactly knew what they wanted, were concrete in attack and then lowered the tempo and stood with a defensive approach once they had the right result. This was fourth consecutive defeat for Bourg Peronnas, as the team previously suffered defeats to Red Star, Valenciennes and Orleans. The side is now at fifteenth position, having seven points more than relegating placed sides and with three rounds till the end, they should have no relegation worries in the end. Right back Ange Digbeu (16/0) and left back Vital N'Simba (29/0) didn't play in last weeks, while injured and probably out is also central defender Antoine Ponroy (28/1).
Even though they had some improvements in their game play, I don't see Bourg Peronnas staying very competitive here. With the help of their fans, players of Clermont should prevail here while the odds remain more than reasonable.
