Chievo vs Juventus by Enzo
After a really good start in the season for them, Chievo is now having a run of four matches without a victory, as they come from a 2:0 defeat on the road against Crotone last weekend. After two draws, against Empoli and Bologna, the team didn't manage to improve and suffered a bit unexpected defeat.
The team was slight favorite, but didn't manage to prove it on the field. They had much more of the ball possession, but close to nothing with it, while the players of Crotone were way more concrete and did deserve the victory, although the three pointer came in a bit lucky way for them scoring both goals in additional time, each in every halftime. Chievo is now in the middle of the table with fifteen points earned, but need to revert the things around and improve before falling down.
Home team will be playing in 4-3-1-2 formation with Flores and Inglese as forwards, as well as with offensive central midfielder Birsa. They won't be able to count at central defender Bostjan Cesar (5/0) and forward Rodolpho Meggiorini (10/1) who are missing due injuries.
Juventus took important 2:1 victory last weekend at home against Napoli and once again showed that it will be very hard for anyone else to stop them from winning another title. The game could have been a bit better overall, with the team not doing enough in the offensive style of play.
Hosts took the lead in 50th minute via Bonucci, but the guests replied just few moments later via Callejon. Juventus wasn't a lot better, but still took the victory with a goal from Higuain. The team once again showed that they don't need to play up to the full potential in order to remain dominant in Seria A, as they continued to be first placed side with four points more than Roma. During the midweek, the team took a point in a 1:1 draw at home against Lyon and they are now just a step away from securing the knockout phase.
Visitors from Juventus will be playing in 4-3-3 formation most likely, with Cuadrado, Higuain and Mandzukic upfront. Guests miss central defender Giorgio Chiellini (10/2), offensive Marko Pjaca (5/0) and forward Paulo Dybala (8/3) who are injured. Leonardo Bonucci and Miralem Pjanic are both doubtful but with chances to play.
- Juventus have won 7 of their last 8 matches against Chievo.
I have no doubts that the players of Juventus will be able to get the victory here. It can easily be in even more easy fashion than what the odds suggest, so I see the -1 Asian handicap as quite a safe betting option here. Chievo shouldn't be able to resist them for the whole game.
