Zilina vs Copenhagen by Isaiah
Zilina didn't actually have real opponent in Slovakian Fortuna League last season, as the team won the championship with sixteen points more than second placed Slovan Bratislava as they confirmed the title weeks and weeks before the league has ended.
As for the Cup competition, they were eliminated in quarter-finals away to Skalica, however it wasn't much of a disappointed since they were already leading the table big time. During the preparation period, the side tested a lot losing out 3:6 to Trencin at start, then winning over Polish side Podbeskidzie 6:0, but also suffered defeat against Slvaia Prague 4:0 and finally drew last Wednesday against Sigma Olomouc 3:3.
In comparison to last season, Zilina will be playing without goalkeeper Milos Volesak (29/0) and midfielder and team captain Viktor Pecovsky (11/0), while doubtful remains midfielder Jakub Holubek (18/1).
Similar to Zilina, Copenhagen also didn't have a real opponent in Danish Superliga last season, as they ended the season crowned as champions weeks before real end, ending the Championship with twenty-two points more than second placed Brondby.
They even rested some and tested some players towards the end of the season, but still also managed to win the Cup's finale against Brondby with a 3:1 result late in May. As for the friendlies, they lost to Partizan 3:2 at the start, but also drew against Sturm Graz 1:1 and had a goalless draw last Wednesday evening against Russian side Krasnodar.
Defender Peter Ankersen (32/5 last season) and midfielder Rasmus Falk (22/5) won't be here in comparison to last season.
Even though it's first leg only, I don't see this game being a defensive one actually. Copenhagen is a favorite and a very threatening side with great efficiency, while Zilina knows they can't just stay behind the ball, defend and see what happens. Odds are definitely valuable in my eyes for over goals here.
