Tottenham vs Dortmund by Luke
It looks like international break suited well to the players of Tottenham, as the team bounced back to winning ways after two negative results (lost at home against Chelsea and just a point taken also at home against Burnley) before they managed to take all three points on the road to Everton last weekend with a 3:0 result.
They were simply better than the opponent, taking the double lead via Kane and Eriksen inside the first halftime, while the first one scored another goal, in 46th minute, while the Spurs were satisfied with the scoreline and left the ball possession to their hosts, however the players of Everton weren't that dangerous in attack. With this victory, they have now two wins, a draw and a defeat, being still just three points below leaders from duo from Manchester.
Hosts should be playing in kind of a 3-5-1-1 formation with Kane as central striker, plus Eriksen as offensive support behind his back. Left Danny Rose comes from injury and maybe the game comes too soon for him, while defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama remains in similar situation. Offensive midfielder Dele Alli (4/2) is suspended, with offensive Georges-Kevin Nkoudou remaining injured. Midfielder Erik Lamela should also be out due injury.
Dortmund, on the other side, had a really great chance to get all three points last weekend and be alone at the top of the table, but the side failed to record already "seen" victory on the road against Freiburg staying to a goalless draw only. They had much more of the ball possession and looked better, however weren't that concrete in attack.
Moreover, it's even bigger surprise when knowing that the players of Freiburg stood playing with a man less since 29th minute when Ravet got red carded, but the visitors simply couldn't score a single goal. After this point taken, they are sharing the first position together with Hoffenheim and Hannover and lost great chance to be alone at the top - on the bright side, the team is only club yet to concede a goal in Bundesliga.
Visitors are set to play in their usual 4-3-3 formation with Pulisic and Philipp on the wings, plus Aubameyang as central striker. Central back Marc Bartra (3/1), left backs Raphael Guerreiro (5/0, Marcel Schmelzer (1/0), midfielders Julian Weigl, Sebastian Rode, Marco Reus and offensive Andre Schurrle are all out due injuries for the guests, with their coach surely having bit of headache selecting the team here. Omer Toprak and Sokratis should be at the heart of the defense, while they should have no many changes for this one.
- Tottenham have seen over 2.5 goals in their last 3 matches against Borussia Dortmund.
Tottenham comes into this one after a really good performance against Everton that surely boosted their morale. No doubt that they are hoping and will be going for a victory here, while they surely know that they can't defend only. English side will try to exploit injury woes of Dortmund, but the guests should also be able to respond in attack - therefore I see this match ending with plenty of goals, actually couple of them in both nets. Being drawn together with Real in the group, neither of the sides can be fully satisfied with a point here.
