Dinamo Zagreb vs Lyon by Lucien
Four rounds into the new edition of Champions League, Dinamo Zagreb is yet to score a goal, while the team counts zero points being defeated all four times for now. Logically, they are at the last position and this match is their last chance to get involved into the battle for the third position, which seems quite unlikely since the team has four points less than French side Lyon.
In the previous Champions League game, the team got easily outplayed by Sevilla away from home, as they conceded the first goal in 31st minute via Vietto, but then stood playing with a man less which made the game much more easier for the Spanish side, scoring three more in last twenty-five minutes of the game, via Escudero, N'Zonzi and Ben Yedder. As for the domestic league, Dinamo made another setback taking only a point in a home clash against Istra 1:1, now being six points below first placed Rijeka.
Dinamo Zagreb should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Henriquez as central striker, but also with Fernandes, Coric and Soudani as offensive midfielders. Croats will miss full back/midfielder Petar Stojanovic (10/1) after he was sent off in the previous game against Sevilla. Offensive midfielder Domagoj Antolic (2/0) is injured, while participation of midfielder Ivan Folic (3/0) is doubtful due injury problems.
Lyon, on the other side, disappointed a bit for now, at least when looking at the results, since the team has earned only four points so far (three pointer against Dinamo and just a draw against Juventus, losing twice, to Juventus and Sevilla for now). They are now in a must win situation since they have four points less than second placed Juventus and the chances of progressing in the top two doesn't seem that likely now.
The team actually looked pretty decent in the previous Champions League game, when they took a point away from home against Juventus in a 1:1 draw, losing from thirteenth minute with a goal from Higuain from penalty spot, but Tolisso leveled up the result deservedly in 85th. As for the domestic league, team comes from a narrow 1:0 victory away from home against Lille, taken thanks to a goal in third minute via Cornet, while the team remained slightly dominant for the whole game. They are now at fourth positon with seven points less than third placed PSG and need improvement as well.
Lyon is set to play in 4-1-4-1 formation with Lacazette as striker, but also with Valbuena, Ferri, Tolisso and Rybus as offensive support behind him. They seem to be back to using four defense man, while the team can't count here at injured right back Christophe Jallet (no performance so far), plus offensive midfielder Rachid Ghezzal (9/1). Midfielder Clement Grenier (4/0) is doubtful, same as forward Nabil Fekir (9/2).
- Lyon have scored at least 2 goals in their last 3 matches against Dinamo Zagreb.
Dinamo showed close to nothing so far in Champions League and with the French side coming in must win situation, I can't see anything but an easy away victory here. Croats have their own worries to think about in the domestic league and I'm quite confident that they aren't taking this match with high motivation whatsoever.
