Crusaders vs Copenhagen by 20Legend
Copenhagen has settled themselves in Northern Ireland in order to get one step closer to Champions League tonight. Their squad is solid as we know from the previous seasons, but they have also had some offensive missing here. Their striker Nicolai Jorgensen is sold to Feyenoord while the midfielders Pavlovic and Keita are injured. These are important offensive players for a team that has struggled on scoring enough goals in their friendlies so far this summer.
However, they are a defensively strong team that is well organized due to some highly experienced names like Tom Hogli, Mathias Zanka Jorgensen and Mikael Antonsson.
The club arrived in Northern Ireland on Tuesday and has had some training sessions on Seaview Park. The pitch is different from what they are used to as it is a new artificial surface that were put on after last season. With the rain that has been coming in Belfast for the last few days, the pitch easily gets very fast according to their coach Stale Solbakken.
Crusaders have had a break since finishing on the top of their domestic league last season with a margin of eight points. They finished the season strongly with 28-7-3 in total and have continued making progress in their friendlies this summer. However, their opponents have been much weaker compared to the opposition tonight.
There is no doubt that FC Copenhagen will be huge favorites here and should win with more than one goal. However, they have not impressed during their friendlies and Crusaders will certainly not be a walkover at home ground. All in all, the guest from Denmark should still manage to step up as the important matches like this starts to roll up. I expect FC Copenhagen to score in both halves here.
