Copenhagen vs Club Brugge

Copenhagen is already looking as a red hot favorite for another title in Danish Superliga, as the team comes from a convincing 2:0 victory at home against Aarhus last weekend. They were better for the most of the game, but only managed to confirm their superiority in last twenty minutes of the game when they secured victory thanks to goals from Santander and Kusk, both players stepping into the match in the second halftime.

After this victory, they are four points above second placed Brondby and as said, already look like perfect candidates for the new title. In the first round of Champions League, the team managed to get a point in a 1:1 draw away to Porto, in quite a defensive game from both sides, while the final results might have been different in case the Danish champions didn't stood playing with a man less since 66th minute when midfielder Gregus got his second yellow card.

Copenhagen should be playing in 4-4-2 formation with Cornelius and Santander as strikers. Home team has no fresh injury worry ahead of this game and coach can count at strongest available team. Only change should be midfielder Jan Gregus (8/0) who is suspended, with Benjamin Verbic probably replacing him on the position of right midfielder.

After more than few negative results earlier in the season, it seems that Club Brugge managed to improve in previous couple of weeks, as the team comes into this match from third consecutive victory, earning a 0:3 three pointer away from home against Mechelen last Friday evening. Izquierdo was man of the match with two goals scored, while Vossen added third for the complete victory.

Overall, it was more than deserved victory as their players were really superior to the hosts who didn't do much in offense. Previous to that, Club Brugge won over Lommel in Cup game, but also at home against Eupen in Jupiler League. With 4-1-3 record so far, the team is only at seventh position at the moment, six points below leading Zulte Waregem, but with obvious improvement in their performances so further climbing at the table is expected.

Visitors from Beglium are set to play in a bit more defensive formation 5-4-1 with Diaby as their central striker. Their manager Michel Preud'homme won't be able to count at central defender Bjorn Engels (4/1), but also at long term absentees forward Wesley (3/0) and offensive midfielder Lior Refaelov (3/1).

  • Club Bruges have conceded at least 3 goals in their last 3 matches (UEFA Champions League).

It's a game between two teams that have very little to lose, since they are drawn in quite difficult group and can only benefit from it, since little number of fans expect them to progress here. Danish side remains favorite in my eyes, but I opt for over goals here since the game itself, is a great chance for both teams to come up in a bit more relaxed way and involve themselves in the race for first two positions.

First of all I don’t think I agree that there will be over 2,5 goals this match. There might be, but I think FCK to win to null is a much stronger bet, as the Copenhagen defense is very strong atm, and last round down in Porto they only really gave away 2 chances, one of them being an uncharacteristically mistake by Delaney.

Secondly FCK have everything to play for; A victory will almost already secure them 3rd place, as Brügge will face Porto in the next two where they most likely will only see a maximum of 1 point.

You also say that the group draw was difficult, which is completely wrong. This got to be the easiest possible group for FCK, and there are a lot of expations that they will at least secure 3rd place. Copenhagen have already played the most difficult match in the group, which resulted in 1 point, which could’ve been 3 if it weren’t for Gregus’ stupid red card.

This Copenhagen team is very close, which not even next to the level of the 10/11-team, which successfully made it to the 1/8-finals in CL, after among others a 1-1 draw at home vs. Barcelona. I will personally be very disappointed if FCK don’t finish at least 3rd, and tomorrows match is very important for that, being that it is the easiest of them all. The announcements from the team shows the same level of expectation, and I don’t think they will be playing as loose as you might think they will be playing.

Totally agree with U guys… I also think that Kobenhavn will win 2day.
But also, Brugge wouldn’t be able to score even a goal
