Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid by Shibby
Champions League is back tonight and there looks like some good games, this one in particular! The game will be played at Signal-Iduna-Park, Dortmund. The game will kick off at 19:45 and will see Dortmund host Spanish outfit Real Madrid.
I'll be watching the game as I can see this being an awesome game and a game that will involve a lot of goals in my opinion. Both teams are in good form. The Dortmund side currently sit in 2nd , just 3 points behind current leaders Bayern. I have seen Dortmund a couple of time this season already and must admit that I have been very impressed!! They are playing some very attacking, attractive football this season and manager Tuchel seems to have a settled side now. I seriously think they will challenge Bayern this season.
I watch a lot of English football, however, I have started watching a lot of German football via BT Sport and must admit, I have been very impressed! No matter which team is playing it's always entertaining! Dortmund head into this game against Real knowing that they have home advantage.
Their form of late has been good. They have won their last 4 games in all competitions. They beat Legia Warszawa 6-0 away from home in their first Champions League game! They then played at home against Darmstadt 98 and won 6-0 again!! They have been so free flowing and look like they could score on every attack!
Their next 2 games also ended in victories, another high scoring game vs Wolfsburg 5-1! To complete their form they beat Freiburg 3-1?! They look hot!! I watched the game vs Wolfsburg and the formation they played causes most teams so many problems! They leave Aubameyang up front on his own, however, he has Dembele and Gotze supporting, who are quick to joing the pacey Aubameyang. Dembele for me looked incredible and I've no doubt he could cause the Madrid defence some issues!
The visitors for the game are Real Madrid, they are currently flying high in La Liga and currently sit at the top on 14 points from 6 games :) They also look very impressive this season under Zidane. I expect them to also have a good season and to compete for the title.
I know they head into the game having not won in their last 2 games, however, they are capable of beating any team on their day. Their last 2 games has seen BTTS as they drew 1-1 with Villareal and 2-2 with Las Palmas. I watched Madrid in their game vs Sporting and was surprised at how many chances they created! They like Dortmund looked like they could score 10 goals every single game!! I know the game was won very late on, however, they created a lot of opportunities.
Madris have a couple of key players out, main ones being their left sided players. This I think will cause them issues! I think Tuchel will have recognised this and I think that Dembele will switch between the right and left wing to cause some serious issues for the Madrid defence. With this in mind I think that Dortmund could win this one, however, as Dortmund have the philosophy that they will score more goals than their opponents even if that's score 4 they will score 5! This also goes for Madrid! Both teams are capable of goals and I expect both teams to play attacking football tomorrow.
