Benfica vs Dynamo Kiev by Jimeno
Benfica managed to get important three pointer in the third round of Champions League against Dynamo Kiev and the team now has completely recovered their chances of progressing further to the knockout stage. Moreover, in case they manage to get a victory tonight as well, the team would probably become the favorite to reach first two position and a ticket for a knockout stage.
It was very even game back than in Ukraine, as the Portuguese side used counter-attacks very successfully, since the team struck the opponent at the beginning of each halftime, in 9th minute from a penalty kick taken by Salvio, and in 55th minute with a goal from Cervi. Ukrainians had more of the ball possession, but the ball was left to them since the Portuguese club was satisfied with the result. As for domestic results, they come from a 3:0 victory against Ferreira, which was their fourth victory in all competitions. Team stands first at the table with already five points more than Porto and Benfica with eight victories and a draw.
Benfica should be playing in 4-4-2 formation with Mitroglou and Guedes as strikers. Hosts are without forward Jonas (no performance till now), while central defender Luisao (4/0) and left midfielder Rafa (no performance so far) are doubts.
Dynamo Kiev, on the other side, probably lost a chance to qualify for the knockout stage, having in mind that they are in a difficult group together with Benfica, Napoli and Besiktas, but also due the fact that they have only one point earned so far. If the team wants to change something around, they need to get a victory here as any other result would probably mean their ending at fourth position in the end.
They come from a 4:1 home victory against Karpaty last weekend, which was their first victory after a run of five matches without a clear victory taken - surely a sign of their downtrend in form that ocurred in previous weeks. After this easy three pointer taken, the team stands only at third position in Ukrainian league, with already having eight points less than leaders Shakhtar and nobody can be satisfied with this situation.
Ukrainians will be playing in 4-1-4-1 formation with Moraes as central striker, but also most likely with Yarmolenko, Sydorchuk, Garmash and Gonzalez acting as offensive part of the team as well. Offensive midfielder Andriy Yarmolenko is having some problems, but should be able to play. Doubtful is also right full back Danilo Silva (1/0).
Benfica already showed that they are more quality side and surely more concrete in attack. One way or another, Dynamo Kiev has nothing to wait for - simply anything else but a victory here would mean exiting the Champions League at fourth position for them - therefore, I see plenty of space for Benfica to be way more threatening situations in front of opponents goal. Easy home victory is what I expect here.
