Benfica vs Besiktas by Isaiah
Apart from one setback at home in the domestic league when Benfica lost two points in a 1:1 draw at home against Setubal, Benfica is having perfect start in the new season. The team already took the Super Cup title with a 3:0 victory over Braga, while they hold the second position for now in the league, having 3-1-0 record for now.
They come from a 1:2 victory away from home against Arouca last weekend, but it needs to be said that the victory alone came a bit easier than what the final result shows. Semedo brought them into the lead in sixteenth minute, while Lopez doubled up the lead at the start of the second halftime, while the hosts reduced in 56th via Gonzalez, but without threatening further obviously superior side.
Portuguese team should be lined up in 4-4-2 formation with Gomes and Guedes as strikers. Striker Kostas Mitroglou (2/0) is not fully fit, but should get (some) playing time in this match. Forward Jonas (1/0) is sidelined, as well as striker Raul Jimenez (2/2). Home side also can't count at midfielder Andre Almeida (no performance till now) and central defender Jardel (1/0). Left midfielder Rafa (1/0) is also injured.
Besiktas has lost their Super Cup game before the start of the domestic season to Galatasaray, but the team is showing signs of improvement now and there's no doubt that they will be one of the strongest competitors for the domestic title again. They come from a 3:1 home victory over Kardemir Karabuk last weekend, winning previously also at home against Alanyaspor 4:1, but making setback on the road to Konyaspor 2:2.
Tosun and Siamanoglu brought them into the double lead already after thirty minutes and even though visitors from Karabuk reduced in 48th via Traore, Besiktas looked dominant and had no particular problems reaching the victory, sealing it with a goal from penalty kick in 83rd taken by Ozyakup. Having in mind that they are in group together with Italian side Napoli, Turks simply can't afford to lose here if they are to bid for the first two positions seriously.
Visitors from Turkey will be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Tosun set as central striker, while he will have help from offensive midfielders: Quaresma, Arslan and Sahan. Defensive midfielder Veli Kavlak (0/0) and offensive right midfielder Aras Ozbiliz (1/0) are both ruled out with injuries.
Both teams are undefeated for now in the domestic leagues, both coming in quite decent forms. I see this game as very intense and can't see past yellow cards bets here. Referee will be Serbian Milorad Mazic who is known for showing cards a bit easier maybe, while away matches of Besiktas are usually full of cards and very rough play, especially against stronger opponents. I believe the line should be set to five cards, so will take the bet very gladly.
