Real Madrid vs Ajax (By: MDG)
Score on aggregate is 2:1 for Real Madrid and in this second leg they will miss their captain and main defender Sergio Ramos. This is not the worst absence as Ramos was far from his top form recently, this could actually work in favour of Real Madrid.
Real Madrid used their fair share of luck away in Amsterdam and they undeservingly won 1:2. Ajax deserved a draw at least, if not more, but they run out of luck in crucial moment of the season.
I give Ajax slim to none chance of reaching the quarterfinal, Real Madrid will be commited in offense looking to punish the dutch youngsters. Recent setbacks to Barcelona 0:3 and 0:1 must leave a sour taste in mouth of Madrid players so losing to their greatest rivals twice in a row can only be cleansed with a strong win in their favorite compeititon, the champions league.
Ajax without major absentees but with a broken spirit nonetheless, they know they should have won at home with so many great chances. That second leg will come back to haunt them and will be proven costly.
V. Junior is outstanding for Real Madrid and he was their best player in Barcelona losses. What Real Madrid lacked in Barcelona games is the final product. Ter Stegen was on top of his game and combined with V. Junior not being able to finish and Benzema missing clear chances, it's no wonder they haven't scored for two games in a row at Santiago.
Defense of Ajax is weaker and their goalkeeper is worse. V. Junior, Bale and Benzema should all be a big threat to Onana and I see real beating Ajax again but this time even worse and with -1.5. Not a good timing for Ajax facing beaten down Madrid in two classicos.
Score prediction: Real Madrid to win 3:1
