Liverpool vs Bayern Munich (By: TFB)

Champions League

Liverpool come into this match after a nice 10 day rest since their routine 3-0 win over Bournemouth. The Reds are complete animals at Anfield and when they are at their best nobody in world football can compete with them. They haven't lost a home game in the Champions League since 2014 and have beaten Man City 3-0, PSG 3-2 and Roma 5-2 in the last couple of years.

Liverpool will be fresh and at full strength when Bayern come to Merseyside. Salah, Firminio and Mane are probably the most dangerous trio in the world right now from an attacking sense.

No matter what anyone says, it's a fact that Bayern aren't at the level they were 5-10 years ago. They are an aging side and haven't really brought in players of a world class standard recently. Ribery and Robben are both 35 now and Muller hasn't provided the goals he used to having failed to hit double figures since the 2015/16 season.

Lewandowski is still a threat for the Germans but last year's losing finalists are stronger this season with the defensive additions of Van Dijk and Alisson and will see a home win as a near must if they are to progress to the next round.

If Liverpool will win these game it will be by more than one goal and if it will end draw then i guess 2:2. But Liverpool will not loose this match. Bayern Munich always concede goals

VvD is suspended so Liverpool CBs will most likely be Matip-Fabinho which ofc' not is anywhere near as strong af duo as VvD-Gomez. However with Wijnaldum-Henderson just in front of them I doubt Bayern can produce many finishes in the first leg.
Bayern themselves are without suspended Müller, injured Robben, Ribery, Boateng and Tolisso.

Also we have to remember that Klopp still hasn't lost at Anfield in a european game since he came to Liverpool. He even had great runs in Europa League and Champions League where they went into the final in both tournaments.

I agree with your pick. Liverpool will win at home.

Liverpool is a tough nut to crack on their home field. Defensive lines make this game interesting game though with those missing players. Anyhow Bayern is an old team and they tend to make serious mistakes. In the previous season Pool trashed even bigger teams on their home field. If they come with a high energy like they did against City, BM will find it a very hard job to control Pool's fast attacks.

Ofc football is a tricky game and many things can happen. But day before we can assume that Klopp won't give anything easily as won't his players and it just may be that Bayern is too seasoned and old to have the energy they need to get anything out from this one. Of course if they can keep this as a close call, they may gain an advantage as Pool is a totally different side when on road.

I think though that Bayern has seen their best days with their current roster.
